i think he will ... the nets wants to reduce kidd's minute to 30mpg...

If the Nets are trying to contend soon Kidd would be restrained in the mpg he plays. Everone knows he's prone to injuries, and McInnis as a back-up is a good choice.

And with McInnis not being the youngest player ever, they don't shut the window for Planinic. All in all, good signing for the Nets.

I hope McInnis shows good behaviour and attitude, it appears he has quite a temper from what I've read.

Does anybody why does he have that bad rep? :?

It's a good pick-up. They now have a solid backup PG for Kidd.

getting rahim and jeff made the nets to a 2nd round playoff team...
nice move...

It has the potential to be a really good signing. A really good bench player in my opinion should be capable of starting when the time comes while being effective in the time he gets off the bench, especially in spurts. I believe McInnis is capable of fulfilling that role, the real question mark his attitude.

The fact that he'd be willing to sign with New Jersey knowing that would be his role behind Jason Kidd suggests he's fine with the idea, but it's one thing to say that beforehand, another to actually play under those circumstances and remain happy about it.

The Nets are looking scarier and scarier. Not only that they will have one of the best starting lineups, even their bench is great - and that's the combination which they didn't have in their Finals stints. McInnis is a fuckwit, but a fuckwit with good basketball skills and a top notch Kidd reserve. If he plays along, that is. Now the only thing we can wish for is, that everyone stays healthy, that Cliffy&Collins duo produces and that Wright pans out as a good backup at SG/SF.

as fast as the nets messed up their team they rebuilt it pretty fast.
I wish the knicks could take notes and do so themselves

McInnis is an awesome depth signing.

He's had attitude problems on other teams, but he asked to come to Jersey, and he's willing to come off the bench. One more signing and we could be legit title contenders.

McInnis will get decent minutes as he can backup to 1 and 2.

Kidd - 37 MPG
Carter - 38 MPG
Jefferson - 40 MPG

That leaves 29 minutes at the 1-2-3. McInnis - 14 MPG, Wright - 15 MPG, something like that will be likely how it goes.

Sun Jul 31, 2005 8:51 am

they want kidd to play 30MPG

so McInnis can play 20min-25min since he can also backup VC

Mon Aug 01, 2005 8:18 pm

At least McInnis is a better backup than Planinic and Vaughn. Good move by the Nets. (Y)

Why would Carter only play 38 mins? He's coming out of a great season and will be demanding lots of minutes say at least 40.

By the way Mcinnis is a good back up for JKidd.

That's a really idiotic question. 38 minutes is still a lot, only 6 players in the league average 40+ minutes per game. No one in the league should pout if they get "only 38 minutes".
