I'll need to see more, it's the same dunk played...over and over

Sat Jul 02, 2005 2:09 pm

yeah but it's impressive, he's 6'10 and looks very athletic. very aggressive move. Hope he gets better.

Sat Jul 02, 2005 2:45 pm

o ya... i saw this on the local news after the draft. looks pretty impressive. spurs are getting more athletic

Sat Jul 02, 2005 2:48 pm

Yeah..he looks great, but I pray he won't be another Jonathan Bender..haha

I second that.

Although we cant say how hes gonna turn out till we see it with our own eyes I can see him being like a Kevin Garnett type player. Athletic, short range jumper, long arms and coordinated. A long shot lol.

The Spurs could've taken him in the 2nd round. Now they're just trying to look smart by drafting obscure Europeans every year.

Sat Jul 02, 2005 8:06 pm

Can't really gather anything from that vid, other then he's very athletic.

Could the Spurs get any less athletic?

The SPurs had no 2nd round pick this year.

They could trade down...

Sat Jul 02, 2005 10:56 pm

Exactly... they could've even traded the 1st round pick for multiple 2nd rounders. I hope one of these Euro's they pick completely busts, just so they don't get all high and mighty about it.

hehe, with TD,Manu and TP all signed through 2009 or more, I don't think they give a crap if all of their draft choices turn out to be crap...

They could get rid of Ginobilli

Yeah, right

Actually one of New York's first round picks is from San Antonio

So the Spurs have him under contract, but he's not going to play for them for at least a year? How does that work?

They don't pay him, they just retain his rights. he can't play for another NBA team unless the Spurs trade him. Same thing with Luis Scola. They drafted him in 2002, and he's coming over this year.

Mon Jul 04, 2005 10:07 am

That's the same thing the Pacers are going to do with Ezram Lorbek.

Mon Jul 04, 2005 10:15 am

It's the same thing they did with Manu. He was drafted in 99 I think? He was over in Italy showing them the white version of Bryant.

Hopefully, I think the word out right now looks sorta good for Scola to come over but nothing concrete yet. I want to see him because I missed him in the Olympics last year.

Hot damn, I was wondering why Scola wasn't playing on an NBA team after watching him play on the Olympics. And the Spurs have him too  What a smart, smart organization.

Yes, their international scouting team is simply spot-on most of the time... Popovich's European roots don't hurt, either. Scola would be a legit ROY candidate if he played for a weaker team next season. That's why everyone's draft grade for the Spurs' picking of Ian Mahinmi is at leats a "C" or "Indecisive". Yahoo's Dan Wetzel said : "Knowing the Spurs, Ian will probably be the Finals MVP for the year 2010."
