Bulls future...

The Bulls were in good hands when they landed Jay Williams in 2002 but then they drafted Kirk Hinrich in 2003 and finally Ben Gordon in 2004. As you can all see 3 PG in the last 3 lottery. Now the question is, who should they keep? and my answer is Ben Gordon. I think the Bulls are in good hands with Gordon, Deng, Nocioni and Duhon now they only need to add a SG and a C and there you have a championship team.
By the way when is Jay Williams coming back?

Jay Williams might comeback next season, the Rockets and few other teams have said their interested in signing him.
I doubt he'll get more than 10 minutes a game next season, but If he can regroup himself he can be a 15-7 guy at least if he gets good healthy minutes.

He should go to the Hawks, even though they suck that'll be his best oppurtunity to play good minutes. Course Im not sure if the Hawks are one of the teams interested in him or not, but yeah that would be the best place for him.

I agree, Ben Gordon is similar to Chauncey Billups. Hes not a really good playmaker but is more than capable of running a team. Hinrich is a good point but the Bulls need a true SG, I think they might give Ray Allen a shot, not sure if they would want him though because the Sonics already have Ridnour and Daniels, maybe if the Bulls are willing to deal Curry or Chandler in addition to Hinrich in a Sign and Trade for Allen it could change things around, cause Daniels can easily turn into a two guard(since its practically his natural spot).

I disagree. Why break-up a young core just to have a pure sg? Plus i dont see Gordon having trouble being a sg.. Ray allen is way past his prime while curry, chandler, hinrich are just getting started..

I think Jay Williams should go to the lakers. I am pretty sure lakers will be looking for a pg during the offseason and jay williams would be good match.

As for the bulls they should go with Ben Gordon as sg and Kirk as pg. It has been working so far, and why fix something thats not broke

Championship talk is a little premature, I agree. But they're still doing way better than you predicted. Then again, they're doing a lot better than I would have thought too. I wouldn't have expected higher than 8th or maybe 7th if they could get to the postseason.

For the meantime I think they should keep Gordon and Hinrich, but depending on how Gordon develops he could make Hinrich expendable. I would rather see them keep Gordon if he continues to make progress and they want to trade one of them for a swingman, but I'd give it a little more time yet.

The future does look bright, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. It's exciting and certainly much easier to be a Bulls fan these days, our loyalty and belief these past six years almost rewarded by the turnaround this season. But there's still a long way to go before the Bulls are at the level they were at around the mid to late 80s, let alone the form of the 90s.

Jay Williams was my favorite Bull in 2002-2003 he was one of the reasons i tuned in to watch the games. He did the McDonalds All American basketball games as a commentator and wasn't that bad.

beau_boy04: i believe that the bulls have the first dibs on jay williams if/when he comes back. but i think it's unlikely he's returning to the bulls since both parties did settle on a contract buyout and management isn't exactly high on jay will breaching his contract/setting back the team a year by getting in that tragic motocycle accident

imo ray allen is a longshot. he's asking for a max contract and the team is already going to be giving big contract extensions to curry and chandler. i think daniels is best suited with his current role- coming off the bench either at the 1 or 2

in recent nba history, outside of zeke and dumars, no other small backcourt has been highly successful. chandler's great, but there are no rodmans, salleys, laimbeers on this current bulls team. so i think it's a good idea for the team to at least upgrade on the current tall SG's on the team: piatkowski and adrian griffin ( ). also consider that hinrich is a better player at the PG position and that gordon is better at guarding PG's... wow! are you serious?! he was supposed to be the most nba ready player from his draft class but had to be put on the IL with a fake injury because he was having problems adjusting to the nba. i was disappointed with his rookie year: full of bitching about the bulls triangle offense, missed free throws, and the IL fiasco.
