Bomb Threat Delays Pacers vs Pistons

Sat Mar 26, 2005 1:29 pm

"The game did not start on time because we had to make sure that everyone involved was at a comfort level that would allow them to start this game. That's what took so long. ”

the players moved on from this incident , its the retarted fans that still relive november , wow , this is just plain retarted.

Sat Mar 26, 2005 1:35 pm

yes just like the commentators said during the heat/sun game. guess you waiting for the knicks game too huh :P

I just saw a little on TV, the Pacers left but then came back later and Pollard (headband  ) elbowed Ben Wallace and got him pissed off, but no brawl.

Bill "Lamb Lowdown" Laimbeer said that there were bomb threats and I got sick of it and didn't even had the "appeitite" to watch the game.

Fan behaviour is really appalling at times. Mind you, it's worth noting it was a lone idiot who by no means represents all Pistons fans.

Sat Mar 26, 2005 7:16 pm

Well they know that they won't get any punishment handed to them.

Sun Mar 27, 2005 3:20 am

well, all that matters is we embarresed them on their home court AGAIN with 3 of our 4 best players missing.

Sun Mar 27, 2005 3:51 am

meh, it's just the regular season...playoffs are around the corner though.

Sun Mar 27, 2005 4:02 am

beating a team shorthanded at their opponents home court is a confidence booster. and it goes both ways, just like spurs fans after a loss to the suns sans tim duncan, "ah well, we didn't even have our best players blah blah"

it was a good win for indiana. even it's just regular season, the season is winding down and detroit recently has gotten in a groove.

detroit and indy could end up as 1st round matchups...

The point is... what if it was REAL? True that this wasn't a real threat, but what if it was? There's still a risk

Sun Mar 27, 2005 6:57 pm

If it was real it would be further proof that some sports fans take things a little too seriously. When you're willing to show support for your team by committing crimes, I think you've moved over to the bad side of sports fanaticism.

i've read in the chicago tribune that pacers players considered not playing this game because of safety reasons but david stern was furious and threatened massive fines against the players/organization if they didn't play

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com ... -headlines

some interesting quotes from miiller and carlisle in that article. i think the pacers are getting it up the ass by stern. and i can't believe steve francis only gets a 3 game suspension for kicking a camera man.

i agree with reggie 100%.

and the refs gave him and coach rick a harsh deal too. i was sitting right there when he got thrown out, i saw and heard the whole thing.

in response to getting called for a bad offensive foul reggie miller said to the ref: dont you think it ought to be illegal for you guys to smoke crack before the games?

Technical number 1.

reggie gets no foul called after being hacked hard by eddie curry he says to the ref while running down the court: your a fucking stupid ass ref you know that? im gonna leave you alone now though cuz i dont wanna get thrown out of my last trip to chicago, ive got a treat for these fans.

the ref says: fuck you reggie i dont give a fuck about your farewell fucking tour. you say one more word to me and you will be out of here so fast your ass will burn.

reggie laughs but leavs the ref alone.

a few minutes later they call it out of bounds on austin croshere, when it looked like it was off chris duhon reggie says: "1 more word asshole"

technical number 2. thrown out of the game.

rick carlisle says: wait hold on a minute what the fuck did he do??

rick carlisle gets tossed. thats all rick said!!!

im not gonna say the league is out to get the pacers this year but i think after the brawl there is an overall disdain for the team by refs and david stern.

lol, that's horrible. Man, those refs are bastards. So much swearing involved, damn! And that was b.s. when Carlisle got kicked out. Those refs are bastards.

Tue Mar 29, 2005 10:42 am

OMFG, that's hilarious  I wonder what would the refs do if someone like Sheed or Iverson talks to them like that :P
