hello guys, I'm very interested in little players that with their atlethic skills and their determination have compensated what Mother Nature didn't give them
Who are in your opinion the best 5 small dunkers of all time in NBA?
Mine are as fallow:
1. Spud Webb
2. Kevin Johnson
3. Iverson
4. Francis
5. Davis
Moreover, have you links, pics, videos of little flying guys? I'm also curios on knowing some of your stories about your friends, schoolmates that are not that high but can jump till the hoop and dunk!
On of my friend is 5.9 and he is able to hang up to the basket hoop..just amazing! I'm 5.7 and just able to touch the net....
Thanks a lot

Kevin Johnson played all but half of his rookie season for the Phoenix Suns, he was their point guard for most of the 90s and was an All-Star a few times. He also had a reputation for dunking on 7 footers; the most common dunks shown on highlight tapes from the 90s include the dunk on Hakeem, the dunk on Mark Eaton and one over his future teammate John "Hot Rod" Williams.

...just forgetting Robert Pack!
he was an amazing dunker! finished 2nd or 3rd in the 1994 slam dunk contest...he is 6.2.

Yeah, the Pack Man embarrassed big men through the 90s. He had a lot of power in his dunks, perhaps the most of the smaller high-flyers.

I didn't know Delonte West could dunk!
Fri Mar 25, 2005 1:37 am
I wouldn't consider guys like Francis, West and D-Biddy small....they're all about 6'3" which is not that small....
when I think small dunkers, I think 6 foot or under....the guys that come to mind are Spud Webb, Robert Pack and Kevin Johnson....Iverson doesn't really do good enough dunks IMHO to be considered with these other guys....
Fri Mar 25, 2005 1:58 am
Yeah, he just does basic one-handers and two-handers dunks. But that putback on Camby...
Fri Mar 25, 2005 2:05 am
how could we all forget Dee Brown, another small (6'1") slam dunk champion....
so that's 4 top small dunkers (Webb, Pack, Brown & KJ)....who's the 5th one that I'm forgetting about?!?
Fri Mar 25, 2005 2:06 am
Pack is 6.2
http://www.nba.com/playerfile/robert_pack/?nav=page
K Johnson is 6.1
Well..David Rivers (lakers 80s PG) was 6.0 and was quite good on dunking...
I've heard legends, rumors about first dunk of spud webb: some says that he dunked for first time when he was 16 and 5-4!! anyone confirms it?
But the most amazing dunker I have noticed is Ziani, a french guy..see his site:
http://www.slamnation.net/dunkers.php?d ... &langue=en
He can do 720° dunk!!! at 5.10!!
Fri Mar 25, 2005 2:15 am
Pack's 6'2"?!? I always thought he was a little smaller than that
as for the 720 degree dunk, I don't think he can do that.....note that it says his ideal dunk is a 720 or a 360 from the FT line....ideal meaning dream dunk to pull off....he's got a 42 inch vertical which is great, but I think Spud Webb had more than that....but still, the fact he can pull off a FT line dunk is awesome at his height....he must have some crazy hang time....
Fri Mar 25, 2005 2:44 am
marbury is a good dunker too..
he isn't much taller than iverson..
Fri Mar 25, 2005 3:02 am
Earl Watson, he is about 5'11 or 6'0, but definitely not the height the nba has him listed at and he can jump out the gym doing reverse two hand dunks and everything. ive only seen iverson do one hand dunks where he just put his hand over the rim and throw the ball in most of the time. watson also dunked on big men before such as robert horry this year.
Fri Mar 25, 2005 3:20 am
Pfff... 720 degree dunks, 360 from the free throw line... what the fuck do they think of us? And there you can even find a dunk called 'salto dunk'...
!
Fri Mar 25, 2005 3:33 am
Marbury is 6.2, well....at that height the best one think is Fred Jones....
Was surfing on the net today, amazing to see how many sites teach you how to gain inches in vertical leap...all claim to bring you able to dunk even if you are 5.5!!!
Well think that Ziani already done the 720°...however a 306° over 3 guys seems not bad for a 5.10 dunker!

Young Iverson used to throw it down, he has like a 44 inch vertical, I remember his put back on Marcus Camby, that was nice.

Watch out for Nate Robinson (U.Washington)...
Fri Mar 25, 2005 5:29 am
I think everyone knows, or at least should know about him by now
Fri Mar 25, 2005 6:17 am
Who is this guy (mean Nate Robinson)? don't find him at nba.com....

I'm 5'9" 1/2 and I am like a half centmeter from touching the rim.. this guy that I see at the park alot is either 5'8" or 5'8" 1/2 and he can get high enough to not just touch the rim but he can grab and hang on the rim. And he can do it consistently he did it maybe 4 or 5 times during a little 5on5 that we were playing. There's another guy I think is 5'7" I don't see him a lot but he's older then me (maybe 18) and he can get high enough over the rim to throw it down (though not with ease it takes him a couple of attempts before the balls falls in lol).

Forget about that, dude. He would do some much fancier stuff if he had 44 inch.SbHzMaFiA wrote:watson also dunked on big men before such as robert horry this year
When was that game?SbHzMaFiA wrote:he can jump out the gym doing reverse two hand dunks and everything
Oh yeah?
How do you know?
Fri Mar 25, 2005 8:59 am
AI does have a 44 inch vert Onyx. I'd say Spud Webb, Robert Pack, Steve Francis, Earl Watson and young Iverson were/are good dunkers for their height. Btw, I'm 5' 5" and I can almost touch the rim :\

except having a 44 inch vertical doesn't amount to shit if you dont have the height or arm length to make up for it.
having said that iverson was a sick dunker in his rookie days.. there was a putback jam he did on the entire frontcourt for the raps and a putback against seattle

1.D.Armstrong i remember how he made some great dunks in orlando!!
