Qyntel Woods

Tue Jan 11, 2005 4:49 am

Does anyone know where he is? He has been suspended at the beginning of the season by the Blazers because of dogfights; but we still haven't heard of him. The Blazers' roster is as if Woods wasn't on it; as for the 2nd time of the season it stands at 15 with the recent signing of James Thomas (they signed and released before Geno Carlisle). But no announcement have been made mentionning that Woods have been released. It's bad, cause Woods have some trading value; I remember that the Cavs were interested. And a second round pick is better than nothing in return.

Too bad for Woods too, he looked talented, but too much of a gangsta

He was cut. Didn't he shave his hair cause he was changing his lifestyle or sth just like what Eddy Curry did.

I'm sorry but I can't find any link relating that Woods has been cut. There's just a notice on nba.com/blazers saying that Woods was suspended, but after that, nothing :(

He was cut? When did that happen? Didn't he explode for a few games last season? Averaging like 20 orso points? Even if he was cut, how come no one has picked him up yet? :o

Looks like I've been heard by hoopshype, they've just released an article on him:

He's indeed still suspended as his case is under investigation.

Dogfighting is illegal in Oregon. And to quote the article talking of Woods: "He has previously been cited on charges of marijuana possession as well as driving with a suspended license."

Another quote:

The Blazers have a zero tolerance policy and have taken numerous steps in the past year to clean up their image. With attendance dropping and unruly player behavior rising, they instituted a new policy to alter the perception of the franchise.

And you know what? I think they are right. These players doing their gangstas while being paid millions are getting on my nerves. Kick them out of the league and give the place to guys that really want to play, and sweat in the gym instead of smoking pot.
