My man Dwight

Fri Nov 19, 2004 8:08 am

Will he break Shaq's rebounding record.

Record = Most consecutive games grabbing more than 10 boards at the start of their rookie year

Shaq has 12, Dwight is at 8

He has a 50/50 chance.

Wait where's Homer who kept hating on D12, and now he's outperforming Okafor, look at these rebounding numbers:

#3 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(11.5) in only 28.5 minutes
#12 in the NBA in Blocks Per Game(1.88)
#2 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds(33.0)
#2 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per Game(4.1)
#9 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds(59.0)
#11 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds Per Game(7.4)
#5 in the NBA in Total Rebounds(92.0)
#12 in the NBA in Blocks(15.0)
#4 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(6.9)
#4 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(12.4)
#1 in the NBA in Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(19.4)
#19 in the NBA in Blocks Per 48 Minutes(3.16)

Okafor:
#12 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(10.2)
#10 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per Game(3.3)
#14 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds Per Game(6.8)
#15 in the NBA in Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(14.9)

...and he's playing 32.7 minutes a game, so Dwight is just as good a rebounder, and blocking more shots. I won't say Dwight is a better rebounder because Orlando takes 5 more shots a game than Charlotte, and they shoot 41.9% to Charlotte's 45.?%, so Dwight has more rebounds to grab.

reading from somewhere just a moment ago.. prob espn.com

it is interesting saying, 'he is mini more christian david robinson and his skills are lightyears ahead of Mr Amare and Mr KG when they were 19... and he is still 18.'

Go Dwight...

espn has a way to overexagerate anything... however, i must give kudos to dwight. I was shocked when they passed on emeka, but it looks like they made the right decision. i stand corrected

They made the right choice for the franchise's future i believe

Glad to see the spirit of Homor living on. He doesnt have to be around for us to make fun of him :proud:

The wall normally refers to offense, Howard isn't doing much offensively, just rebounding and blocking shots, Okafor isn't doing much offensively either since he's shootng 39%.
