Tskitishvili: The Next Dirk Or Just A Big Jerk?

Wed Aug 11, 2004 3:30 pm

According to prosports daily there are several teams interested in his services including my Lakers: http://prosportsdaily.com/nba/76ers/rumors.html

Why? Supposedly this guy was supposed to be the next Nowitzki but he's never shown me jack sincing being drafted with the 5th pick in the 2002 draft. But he is garnering some interest from quite a few clubs....... What do y'all think?

Heres his scouting report according to hoopshype:

Still a project... Quite skilled on the offensive end... Has good shooting stroke and looks good facing the basket... Nice ballhandling skills for a guy his size... Versatile... Can play the shooting guard and power forward spots..... Does his best as a small forward.... A defensive liability...

This would make sense if they still had Shaq and Phil and were running the triangle...but they're not, so I don't really see the point. At best, from what I've read, he sounds more like a Toni Kukoc than a Dirk...he can score tons of points on anygiven night, but he probably won't and he can't play defense...

yup, that sounds like dirk.

I think he can be good, I mean he tore up the summer leagues this season, which granted doesn't mean much but sometimes it acts as a bit of a confidence platform for these players. I personally hope he goes to the Lakers, being a Lakers fan... but also a Matt Neilsen fan, who was a power forward that also impressed for Denver's summer league team but has a slim chance of making it due to all of the other bloody power forwards they've got.

I don't think he'll justify his selection as the fifth overall pick in 2002, but he might become a good role player a la Toni Kukoc. Last year he seemed to be touted as just another human victory cigar.

That's how I feel about him.

What gets me about this dude is that you'd think he'd be able to get up off of the bench playing for a run n' gun team like the Nuggets which seems like it would suit his style of play. This cat was nowhere to be found most of last season.......

Here take a gander at his numbers:http://www.nba.com/playerfile/nikoloz_tskitishvili/index.html?nav=page hmmmm........

he's a bust. It maybe too early to say that but I'm going take a "wild" guess and say he is a bust. Or will be.

Well the guy did have an excellent summer camp from what i read.

he does have potential, but yes, really never impressed while with Denver.
should of done a lot more so far.

i think he could be a good pickup for any team, coz hes still cheap and has a lot of potential, on the offensive end anyway :P

Tskitishvili after his rookie contract will sign with the Pistons and will form the frontcourt of the future with Darko. I can see it now... The Bleak Wall

With his defense? I can't see Larry Brown even playing this dude if he was acquired by the Pistons. Tskitishvili is an absolute turnstile on defense.......

1. Darko and Prince will be handling the toughest defensive assignments out of SF/PF/C.
2. Brown will be gone by then

Hard to argue with the prospect of Larry being gone. That dude switches teams more than a horny bisexual........ :D

and horny bisexuals switch...alot of teams? What does that anything to do with teams and larry brown?

oh well.

the scouting report is right on: still a project

i don't think the nuggets were expecting a whole lot, as far as production goes, from him these past season since they knew that skita was going to be a project in the first place

barring he's included in some blockbuster trade- why would denver give up so early on him?

Explanation for my abstract joke. In the gay community bisexuality is referred to as "switching teams". Wait, how do you know this Dre?!?

Hehehe, I'm an actor so I've been around quite a few of them but sorry I'm a hopeless hetero-sexual.........
