Why do you think Orlando might take it?
Wed Jul 21, 2004 6:00 am
Narcotics?
I think Detroit have a good chance of taking it again, but if I had to pick anyone it would be Denver. Don't laugh. They've got a great core group now, and also going to have a really strong bench when you look at that Tsafofjqpwjfjzsnfnvili guy plus Matty Nielsen if he gets signed, which he should, dude's averaging 12ppg on 70% shooting in Summer League on about 15mpg... that's good for a PF/SF... anyway, I'd pick Denver.
Wed Jul 21, 2004 6:03 am
I'll go with San Antonio.

clips
or rockets
Wed Jul 21, 2004 9:26 am
I see...
The Pistons vs the Suprs in the Finals.
....and the Spurs beating the Pistons in 6 games.
Wed Jul 21, 2004 9:33 am
Sacramento Kings.
Wed Jul 21, 2004 9:49 am
Spurs
Wed Jul 21, 2004 10:12 am
With luck it will be the Lakers (not likely

)
Other then that I'd go with Detroit.
Wed Jul 21, 2004 10:14 am
Lakers...more realisticly an NBA FINALS consisting of Indiana vs. Minny
BUT: GO LAKERS
Wed Jul 21, 2004 12:34 pm
Spurs
T'Wolves
Nuggets
Pistons
Pacers
Between those 5

who gives a fuck get over it
im goin with houston this year. tmac and yao could be like shaq/kobe who knows. i think their a contender for western conference. and i think pistons or pacers will take eastern
Wed Jul 21, 2004 1:08 pm
Nah, I don't think Houston can win this year.
They don't have a decent PG, nor are they very deep.
Not yet.
I still pick the Spurs.
Wed Jul 21, 2004 4:00 pm
I have to agree...Houston doesn't have a championship caliber team yet. They need a better PG. They have a good team, but with the right moves they can get over the hump.
Yao-C
Howard/Taylor-PF
J. Jackson/Weatherspoon -SF
T-mac/Piatkowski-SG
Lue-PG
Wed Jul 21, 2004 4:13 pm
i have it narrowed down to 3 teams
Detroit- obviously got better
San Antonio- had a chance last year but missed out, still perhaps the strongest team in the L
Miami- Shaq just promised a Championship, he seems determined
On the bubble:
Indiana- Improved but perhaps less than Detroit
Denver- I consider them a 'long shot', not this year, their could be chemistry problems
Houston- Only if Yao hogs the ball
Sacramento- Always up there but never get it done because they are rather soft.....seem to have been surpassed by at least 1 team in the West
Possible Surprising Teams:
Dallas- they always have a great season but never make anything of it (Making the Conf Finals doesn't count, a team this talented still took 7 games to beat a Webber-less Kings)

Anyway, i say Spurs. San Antonio will take it no doubt.
San Antonio vs Nuggets - Miami vs Detroit Hmmm. Yummy !!! it will be so much fun next year. Lots of teams will play tempo basketball + we will have an all star weekend on Live 2005.
mcdyess may be getting old but if larry brown plays him for about 15-20 minutes each game he'll be pretty effective as a back up
how did detroit get better?
they picked delfino in the draft last year and he's expected to play this season.. lots of scouts compare him to manu ginobili
tayshaun will only get better, he's young and he works his ass off; same with rip
and they resigned rasheed
Wed Jul 21, 2004 5:12 pm
they replaced Okur with McDyess, and obviously Dice' knees are working fine because he's passed all required tests before JD signed him
Delfino will be expected to play immediately and um, Darko isn't gonna get worse
i see JD making some small moves here and there before the season ends

The Timberwolves

the same team as last year so far. No injuries so far. I think the wolves will get it together to win it.
Wed Jul 21, 2004 7:03 pm
West:
1. San Antonio
2. Sacramento
3. Minnesota
4. Dallas or Los Angeles
East:
1. Detroit
2. Indiana
3. New Jersey
4. Miami
Wed Jul 21, 2004 8:00 pm
West: San Antonio and Minnesota with Denver that could surprise.
East: Detroit and Miami (they will get some players with Shaq on the team) with Indiana as an outsider.
Wed Jul 21, 2004 8:34 pm
I just can't see anybody from the West beating out San Antonio, barring any serious/significant injuries. As for the East, I think only Detroit can beat SAS
Thu Jul 22, 2004 12:05 am
Miami has certainly become a popular pick.
I won't pick one team this early in the offseason, but my top four candidates are:
East
1. Detroit
2. Miami
West
1. Spurs
2. Timberwolves
Overall
1. Spurs
2. Detroit
3. Timberwolves
4. Miami
Thu Jul 22, 2004 12:48 am
Miami seems up there but it will still need to get some more players to sign. They are just to weak depth wise
