The first thing you should understand is that this article IS NOT TRUE!!!! It is a joke, as is the other article from thebrushback.com Tales posted. To answer your question, though, GPA stands for Grade Point Average, which is what most U.S. schools use to determine how well a student is doing overall in his/her classes. Each grade that a student recieves is equal to a number:
A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
F=0
When you add together the numerical equivalent of a student's grades from all his/her classes for a semester, and divide the total by how many classes he/she took, you get the Grade Point Average.
If this is still confusing, I'll give an example.
"Billy" takes four classes; english, math, science and quantum mechanics. At the end of the semester, here are his grades:
English=B
Math=C
Science=A
Quantum Mechanics=F
So his grades of B,C,A and F equal the numbers 3,2,4 and 0. When we add these numbers we get 9. Now we divide 9 by the number of classes, 4, and we get 2.25, which is "Billy's" Grade Point Average. This means "Billy" averaged slightly better than a "C" in all his classes.
I won't get into the concepts of weighted grades and letter grades like "AB" because, frankly, I've already spent too much time on this. After all, this is an NBA forum. I should add that the GPA for NBA players that was quoted in the bogus article has to be made up, too. There's no way the entire NBA averages .011. If they did, they would have all have been acedemically inelligible to play basketball for their schools, not to mention they would have flunked out.

Thats the dumbest article I've ever read

You look around the league and you’ll find that most of the players aren’t just stupid, they’re dim to the point of being mentally challenged

It has satirical elements, including that. If you don't like dark humor like that, then I guess you did think the article is dumb.
