Why is Foyle getting 41 million?

Thu Jul 08, 2004 2:38 am

Someone who averages 3ppg doesn't deserve that much money. It's unbelievable how franchises overpay people.

Thu Jul 08, 2004 3:05 am

He has hidden offensive talent, and he's sick like that

Defense, rebounding, blocking, and leadership, and he really does have hidden offense, but big men always get too much dough.

Thu Jul 08, 2004 3:41 am

well big men are rare these days, you look around the league and you see the problem is a lack of bigmen

Thu Jul 08, 2004 3:42 am

How many years for $41 Million?

Thu Jul 08, 2004 7:05 am

5 years... Can you believe that???

I'm disgusted... If Golden State sucks for 3 more seasons I'm leaving the bandwagon...

Thu Jul 08, 2004 7:44 am

5 years for 41 Million is a good deal for him but a very bad deal for the Warriors.

Oh well, what canthey do now

Thu Jul 08, 2004 7:44 am

whoooaaaaaaaaaaaa
5years 41mill?
8mill a season for a guy whho has a career average of
4.6 points per game
1.8 blocks a game
5 rebounds a game
im a bit puzzled by this move by the warriors now that i saw his stats
I'm assuming he will be there starter and they feel he will be a solid player.
There is some hope
in 02-03 he played all 82 games off the bench and in 22min per game averaged 2.5 blocks a game...thats pretty good numbers

I guess they hope he will average about 10points, 13 rebounds, 3blocks a game

hehe that reminds me of Ben Wallace numbers..
PPG 9.5
RPG 12.4
APG 1.7
SPG 1.77
BPG 3.04
FG% .421
FT% .490
3P% .125
MPG 37.7
for ben wallace

The Ben Wallace of the West is coming  They both suck at free throws too :)

Thu Jul 08, 2004 8:42 am

They could of spend that money on another player.

Thu Jul 08, 2004 9:42 am

They could've spent that money on me for all I care.

Foyle? Now they are paying 41 million dollars for role players?

A lockout wouldn't totally be out of the question..

Thu Jul 08, 2004 9:49 am

The more money spent on these players the more I think there won't be a lockout.

NBA players have nothing to complain about when it comes to money.

Thu Jul 08, 2004 10:13 am

The clubs will stop paying, they will go on strike. The stadium wont let players in. We'll have to open the NBDL...part 2.

Thu Jul 08, 2004 10:19 am

Im willin to take that risk, these players need to stop bein greedy

Thu Jul 08, 2004 10:33 am

It's not entirely the players' fault though.

If you've got a moronic management willing to spit that insane, unheard of, out of this world sum of money to these guys, can't blame the players. :o

Thu Jul 08, 2004 12:42 pm

I thought it was 6 years, but maybe I remembered wrong. The first year is at 6.5 million and the last year is at a whooping 10 milliion, when he's going to be in his mid-30's. What exactly was Mullin thinking?

I wonder what we're having for dinner tonight, beef?

Thu Jul 08, 2004 1:29 pm

One day, they'll remember this and laugh about it (especially if Foyle sucks)

Thu Jul 08, 2004 1:32 pm

Before that one day comes, they'll have many days of crying.

Foyle will suck, maybe not in one or two, but he will.

Thu Jul 08, 2004 1:53 pm

Foyle already sucks...

Thu Jul 08, 2004 1:59 pm

well they see somethin in him if they givin him that much money.me and the city of oakland can only hope that he shows up now that he's paid

Indeed; average is not even 5ppg....rebounds average around 5/game

let him start and get minutes.
im telling you look at his numbers. You need to double them to get starters numbers and you get very close to Ben Wallace numbers. He might be able to put fear in defenders like Ben does...he seem slike a monster on blocks
Now if he is coming off the bench, then this is a terrible move.

(btw i dont watch warriors game so i don't know much about him but the numbers are so similar to ben wallace...and its not like he gets darko minutes, he gets good minutes off the bench)

Thu Jul 08, 2004 3:03 pm

foyle lead the league in blocks per 48 mniutes.

wow
you dont need to give nobody a huge contract because you think u see potential, thats only for draft picks

Thu Jul 08, 2004 3:06 pm

it's not only on potential. Orlando was about to sign him and Dampier is most likely gone. They needed to do something and maybe this is all they could do.

Thu Jul 08, 2004 3:09 pm

thats called desperation to the 3rd degree.Give him 3 years, maybe 10 million, wait, then pay more.It makes sense.Show me some good stats
