Yeah I really hope he gets better ... He's a class act.

That fucking sucks!
He was the Tallest Afro American I've ever seen on TV or anywhere, insanely awesome height of about 7-11 or something man!

They did for one season in 1987/88, Manute's last year in Washington and Muggsy's only season as a Bullet. Judging by their games started statistics for that year, I think they may have even been in the same starting five at least a couple of times.

Pretty ironic hey! And a crazier circus than the one in LA today...well maybe not!
I would pay so much to see them play together...has anyone seen Muggsy play? Wat was his style like?

Very similar to Earl Boykins. He would drive pretty fearlessly, and had a good leaping ability which compensated for his lack of height...to a certain extent. He rarely turned the ball over and often frustrated taller players by stealing the ball out from under them.
I think I only have one game where he's playing, a Bulls/Hornets game from 92/93 that I bought from PonTel.

I got a picture of Muggsy matched up against MJ...Jordan was holding the ball slighty in front of his chest and Muggsy tried to keep his footing...
Poor him- but I'm sure Bogues had a few double digit apg seasons...staying among the PG elite

This is sad news. The days where Bol would take 3's were one of the most comical sights in NBA history. Fans egged him on to take the 3...man.

Good comparison, just want to add though that Bogues was more of a true point guard than Boykins is.

Man, this sucks, and it's sad too.
He was great to watch. I remember seeing him play on the Bullets and Warriors I think, (off of a few tapes

) and it was great becuase he dominated the post like Godzilla or something. Although he wasn't all that agile and not as dominant as Shaq, his size was very daunting to most players and he blocked a huge amount of shots...
On the lighter side of things- I'm surprised he can fit in a cab
Cheers to Manute
Get well soon big fella

Agreed. Doesn't he still have the best career assist-to-turnover ratio in the history of the NBA?
