His shot selection can't be too bad since he was second in rookies in FG% and is leading the Heat in FG%, also shoting 48% against Indiana.

The Dunk on JO was just amazing, he went right over his hand.

all the 'bron and 'melo talk is over and now its all about wade. This kid is going to be pretty good, it seems like he is a Baron Davis type player. Dunking over people, run the point, good shooter, Miami future is looking good now. Steve Van Gundy can brag that his team is still alive unlike Jeff Van Gundy.

Inside the arc , if he develops his outside shot even more this guy will be scary, how will you stop him. Unlike many other players he never wants to settle for the easy outside shot, he always wants to drive.

yeh... it's nice for a change to see a rookie make his own hype rather then the media doing it.

Unlike many other players he never wants to settle for the easy outside shot, he always wants to drive.

exactly. this guy is fearless and its very amazing watching him find openings/angles to the basket when it appears there aren't any. the last thing wade needs is to catch robert horry/scottie pippen, and now baron davis disease.

imo the heat, besides getting a legit center, should get a starting pg and play wade @sg. jones should be the bait but he's a hard a trade because of his age & contract. butler could net a good pg.

someone let eddie jones know that the heat-pacers series started last week

How about Luke Walton? (Lakers)

How about Luke Walton? (Lakers)

IMO, Luke is only a role player, and I don't think he will ever be more than that. Wade, on the other hand, is on his way to superstardom.

True...but if the Lakers make it further than the Heat- Walton will be the LAST ROOKIE STANDING

Thu May 13, 2004 8:15 pm

not unless it's DARKO!!!!!!!!!!!

Fri May 14, 2004 6:16 am

lol maybe i should have changed the title to the last rookie standing who's not riding someone else's coat tails

Wade isnt leading the Heat though...hes sharing it with Butler/Odum...so hes contributing...so is Walton- he contributes too...by passing and rebounding..and occasional scoring!

Darko contributes to his team by warming up the bench for the starters...Wade contributes by doing everything but in the end everyone contributes

- if u know wat i mean... therefore the rookie who wins a ring will be the last rookie sitting (If Miami doesnt pass Indiana!)[/b]

Dude, what the fuck is wrong with PIP??

j/k mate, I know exactly where your coming from (Y)

Anyway, I really think Wade is the future of the NBA. I really am, like many others, getting sick of all this 'Bron this and Melo that.' And what about the other rookies, like Hinrich, Bosh etc?? I say that Wade, will be like a balck version of JKidd or like a 2 Inch taller version of AI in the future. He got game, and everyone knows it, and he will be the last rookie standing in the playoffs... and if they play Minny or Sactown, or Lakers, he'll beat all those rookies with one hand strapped to a beer can!!

That's my opinion, my $3.50!! :D

I don't think Iverson or Kidd are good samples of Wade's game, he's not a guy that takes a lot of shots and shoots a lot (AI), and he's also not an amazing passer without that much scoring ability (Kidd).
Him and Arenas are pretty similar players but we can't say he'll be Arenas because first Arenas hasn't done anything big yet, and they're both young (same age) and will both be crazy in the future.

I can't think of a player yet, slashing PG who's a good rebounder and pretty good passer, and also a good defender?

Tue May 18, 2004 5:09 am

wade reminds me of baron davis and steve francis when they first got in the league. all 3 are scorers first, playmakers 2nd, explosive drives to the basket, strong enough to finish after contact.

Tue May 18, 2004 6:23 am

yeah he got hops just like them too and can jump over big men ( poor JO!!)

Yea exactly, he's like Baron Davis, not as good a passer but him and Baron are the 2 strongest PG's in the league with Billups trailing behind, and they are both explosive and extremely atheletic.
