playoff question

Mon May 03, 2004 6:26 am

Seeing that NO won today, the series between them and Miami is now 3-3 going to game 7.
Lakers and Spurs play today, and Nets and Pistons tommorrow.
How come they get to play already?? Don't you need all the teams to finish the first round first?

it's a money issue: i don't know what the exact rules are but ABC and the NBA know very well that the lakers are the league's biggest draw so they jumped at the opportunity at putting them on national television on sunday. it's no coincidence that spurs & lakers will be playing again on the sunday of next week, and if need be, game 7 is scheduled to be on a sunday.

(N) to the nba for treating these 1st round games like they are football games. i don't even think they are back to back games anymore

my problem with the schedule is breaks between games that are way too lengthy. it should be a game every other day rather than, in sa las case, sunday, wednesday, sunday. come on.

12 months has made my recollection of last year's playoff schedule a little fuzzy, but I don't think they did this last year. I actually thought they stopped scheduling second round games before the first round was over.
