Ford out for Season

MILWAUKEE, April 7 -- Bucks rookie guard T.J. Ford will not play for the remainder of the 2003-04 regular season or the 2004 Playoffs, General Manager Larry Harris announced today.

Ford, 21, has missed the last 22 games on the injured list with a bruised spinal cord, sustained in the fourth period of the home game against Minnesota on Feb. 24.

I had actually kinda known/felt this for a while but I didn't want o say anything till it was final.

I heard that worst case scenrario he would have to call it a career. We all know he had a pre-existing spinal problem that Milwaukee team doctors were aware of when he was drafted but they thought nothing of it because only a freak accident would irritate it.
That freak accident happened as we also know, and now the doctors are noticing very little change in his condition for the future. A complicated surgery to alleviate the problem is a possiblity but all parties are holding off on that for now.

It would be terrible to lose two promising young point guards in the span of a year due to unfortunate accidents, one off the court, one on. Hopefully major surgery won't be necessary and TJ Ford can return to the NBA...or at least live a normal life uninhibited by spinal problems.

both reminds me Bobby Hurley ... :? I hope they could both come back in NBA

They're so similar to Bobby Hurley it's scary, great college careers, an unfortuante accident, never the same. And all point guards. Weird :?

I hope TJ gets better, I like him a lot.

Big blow to the Bucks. With him and Van Horn now sidelined, the Bucks don't look like they will come out the first round. Miami or NO could possibly knock them out.
