chill out dude. stevie's stats are down cuz he's not playing his type of basketball. he's trying to get used to van gundy's system and having A LOT of hard time with it. you just need to calm down with it.

Yeah, Van Gundy is more of a defensive coach, and that's way Francis doesn't score to much, but I agree he still should do better, he is doing about the same stats as Cuttino. Yao is the player right now in the Rockets. I still don't get it why he just get to play like 32minuts a game, does he gets tired fast or what? He should be a 37minuts guy. He performs great every game unlike Steve and Cuttino.

Incase you didn't notice, Francis has been turned into a pass first-shoot later type of player. His assists have gone up. Everyone was always complaining how he wasn't a true pointguard last year. Now that he's actually attempting to share the ball more, you get mad at him.

He's averaging a career low 5.9 APG so his assists have actually gone down. Furthermore, nobody who knows anything about basketball would call Francis a pass first point guard.

Franchise isnt handleing the thought of being second fiddle too well, he's been nicknamed franchise, he sees himself as the franchise player...it'll take some time...

The reasons for his scoring being down are his percentages, and him not getting to the line as much. If he was shooting 43% from the field and 35% from 3pt range, he'd be averaging 17.8ppg. But his ft attempts are also down by 2.1 per game from last year and 2.2 per game from 01-02, so adding 2.1 he'd be averaging 19.9ppg if he shot and got to the line as well as last year.

Whatchu gonna do, his assists have actually gone up lately b/c in the beginning of the season it was just 5.0.

A while back i read an article on espn i think, about how van gundy is having a delicate operation(adjusting francis play),he just aint made for that kinda system, he thrived in the free wheelin offence they had over the last years, big ego or not, when he is on, he is a great player.
