How does NBA draft pick work? Can anyone point me in any direction?

all non play off teams r given ping alls based on there record. The worst record te highest chance of landing the #1pick while the best record team has the lowest. It is possible for a team that just missed the playoffs(like a 41-41 record) to get the #1 pick but the % is so low cmpare to a team that might fnish 12-70
