The Rick Fox report turned out to be untrue, but his eldest daughter Gianna was indeed on the helicopter as well, along with a teammate and one of their parents. Just terrible.

My wife told me this morning, and I assumed it was a hoax or meme. Got an ESPN notification a few seconds later. Hit me like a ton of bricks.

Completely speechless. It's my girlfriend's birthday today and this just tells me to hold her even tighter tomorrow, because everything happens randomly, and one second you're here and the next everything you love just evaporates. A sad afternoon.

It'll be his first year of eligibility which he'll be a sure-in. He won't have the chance to make his rebuttals on Shaq's speech and we won't see if it's Jerry West or MJ that will be with him when he go up the podium.

coming out of hiding to say I still can't believe this is real. RIP Kobe. Was really looking forward to seeing him become some sort of wise basketball wizard every nba player looks to for advice.

Iam still really shocked and hurt by this, the way they went was just awful.

As big of a Jordan fan I am now I wasn't able the time he played because he stood in the way of the Knicks a lot, Kobe playing out west kind of allowed me to appreciate him from day one which watching the nba since I was a 10 year old back in 91 Jordan was already going into his prime.

But for Kobe I was able to watch him coming into the league and turn in a global superstar,we all debate about LeBron and Jordan but for me Kobe was always the player I compared Jordan with, there play style there confidence and there drive to do it alone separated them from LeBron.

Kobe been taken is hard but as a parent to a daughter of my own it's hard to see young girls like this been tragically killed in this event, only peace I find is that the two young women have at least one parent there with them but I wish this never happened at all it's just my way of dealing with it.
