Breaking News: The Utah Jazz have reached a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves to acquire Ricky Rubio.
The Jazz will send Oklahoma City's 1st round pick to Minnesota in exchange for Rubio.
https://twitter.com/1280spenceWhy though? Kyle Lowry in Minnesota? Do they even have a PG right now? George Hill is expendable now in Utah? Maybe he joins the Wolves in exchange.

Our friends at rotow say it's teague who's signing with the wolves

I can sleep well knowing that another rumoured Kyle Lowry destination is potentially off the table.
This has some pretty big implications for Utah though. If Rubio is going to be their starting point guard, I am assuming they're probably out of the race to re-sign George Hill. Which also means..... Gordon to the Celtics? There were rumours that Hayward was heavily campaigning for Hill to come back and his decision to stay would heavily hinge on Hill.

Hayward already said before this trade that he's not picking up his player option. That's as good as a goodbye.
No point in trying to re-sign Hill for the sake of Hayward when the latter is moving anyway.

Hopefully Ricky will have a team that supports him instead of trying to trade his ass every season

Rubio is a poor man's Jamaal Tinsley.

So, it finally happened. Clearly, it's paving the way for Thibs to reunite with Derrick Rose.

Not sure if this really improves the Jazz. George Hill is a nicer player but perhaps Rubio can improve vastly too with help of Gobert.
Real question now is whether this move appeases Gordon Hayward to stay.

I'm getting the impression Hayward is out the door, regardless of the moves the Jazz make.

I can't wait for Teague to show the Wolves that they aren't much better off without Rubio

Now all the Rubio apologists can watch jazz games. Good riddance
And is Dante exum a bust?! George hill was supposed to be a placeholder for him but he got too expensive and now rubios is on the team

Seems like addition of Teague made them a nice playoffs spot contender even in West. Bench seems little thin though it depends a lot on player development.
Andrew Wiggins better step up his game. He's like 4th best player on the team now which might be a good/bad thing for him we don't know. One thing I don't understand is how little he contributes in blk/stl department. He's such an athlete he should be doing much more on reb and defensive category. While's he's a good on-ball defender, he's one of the shittiest team defenders in the league too. Perhaps he can fine tune his game as better players surround him now.

Thibs doesn't need a bench when he can play his starters 35-40 minutes.
