After undergoing a physical exam Sunday morning, former No. 1 NBA draft pick Anthony Bennett has signed a one-year, league minimum contract with the Toronto Raptors, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Bennett, the top pick in 2013, cleared waivers on Friday after a contract buyout with the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Raptors emerged as strong frontrunners to sign him.
Bennett returns home in Canada with fresh opportunity and comfort. Bennett held a strong desire to return to his Toronto roots and play for the Raptors.
As noted in the other thread, it hasn't been the most promising start for Bennett in his NBA career, but good luck to him all the same. Perhaps returning home will be the change of scene that sets him on a better path.
