I understand people hating on this as 'cronyism', but I prefer this to what we dealt with before with D'Allesandro, Malone, and Mullin going against each other. Vlade is clearly in charge now. Vivek is stepping back, and everyone is on the same page. If the recent moves fail, then we've answered a lot of questions both about Cousins and about who will take the blame.

Cronyism is always going to rub people the wrong way, but as you said, the previous regime had problems of its own. Networking and personal connections are always going to be a factor in business decisions, but if everyone's on the same page and ultimately doing a good job, then it's hard to fault the hiring at the end of the day. Of course, if someone is kept around due to their connections despite doing a subpar job, that's when cronyism really becomes an issue.

I think the way Divac handled the Karl-Cousins debauchery lends some legitimacy to Divac as a legitimate asset as GM. Also, I think Divac was chairman of the Serbian Olympic committee. So there is that.
YEAH BOY!
