We dont know IF hes going to particitate..we dont know what other players will particitate either, so you dont know if hes going to win it. Im pretty sure that there are multiple players in the NBA right now who can do between the legs dunks during a game but they just wont do it, because its pro ball and if U missed the attemped, then Im pretty sure the coach will be kinda pissed.

I would like to see him again in the SDC if he was 100% healthy, he did a nice show in 2000. But wasnt there a rule that players who play longer then 3 years in the NBA cannot particitate? I think I read that somewhere :?

I doubt high and mighty but aint shit vince carter will participate again. LeBron will though..i'm sure of it...but i dont know if he has the explosiveness vince has with dunking...nor the hangtime of jordan. I see him as more of a desmond mason quality dunker..or j rich at best. Mabe eventually he will become that good with dunking.

Yes, there is a 3 year rule. There have been rumors that the NBA will allow the top 10 dunkers to participate in a special dunk contest in the next couple of years so we will finally see Kobe, Vince, and Tracy together in it.

As for LeBron, I hope he plays in the All-Star game, not the dunk contest. That should be his next goal.

They have the 3 year rule now, I believe it was instituted this year when the name was changed to the "Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk" to emphasize(sp?) that they're are young players that are doing it. It's a bad rule IMO.

That rule needs to be abolished. Consider that Nique won in 1990 aged 30, his 8th year in the league. What if that rule had always been in effect? No MJ vs Nique duel in 1988. One of the reasons the dunk contest has been suffering is the lack of players who are recognisable to the casual fan.

They've been messing around with the dunk contest too much. The 2003 contest was in a way a return to its roots. No wheel, no bracket, just four guys willing to put on a show. They need to expand the contest to 6 or 8 competitors, which would be easier if they could extend invitations to guys like Kobe and Vince.

I don't think LeBron will win the dunk contest. He just isn't ready to win one yet. Maybe after a season or 2 he will win it, but there are so many good dunkers in the NBA right now that got more moves than LeBron at this moment.

I briefly saw Lebron in the McDonald's slam dunk contest a month or so ago. I don't doubt he has hops. His head was waaaay above the rim on most of his attempts i caught. But in terms of style/difficulty, I'm not convinced he's better than most of the better dunkers in the Nba.
