Official 2007/2008 Denver Nuggets Thread

Postby CMJ3 on Mon Nov 06, 2006 9:31 pm

Every other team has one, so i thought i'd make one for my team The Nuggets.

The season so far.............

we 0-2 with losses to the Clippers (should of won) and the Wolves. This season i dont expect a whole lot because of the new team we have in, JR is doing not to bad, but his defense is worrying me and i hope he works on it over the next preseason, i dont expect much from him this season, all i want is for him to put up good numbers and remain in the side, i think hes a player for the future.

The Dissapointments etc.

Andre Miller, Andre Miller and Andre Miller, the guy turns up to camp overweight and had it?? whats a matter with this guy he needs his head shook. So now he is a more of a liability not only does he still hold onto the ball and pass it off with 2 seconds left on the shot clock but he is now 10x slower and cant run out a game to save his ass, i think its his time to hit the road, we need a new breed of young, fresh and athletic point guards on our team.

Another one is Melo, missing clutch shots? getting tons of turnovers? if he isnt careful this will be another 2005 for Melo. Hes playing like his old self and is ruining expectations, i know its only early and i expect him to fully dominate this season but hes still gotta be careful.

All in all i think this will be a transition year for the Nuggets, with a few new faces and some more developed players (Anthony, Kleiza, Smith). All i can say is I'm looking forward to the trade deadline to see what moves we will make.

Discuss!! :D

I just wanted to say I consider Melo to be better than Wade but below Bron. (Y)

Cheers my man. And Earl Boykins fails to surprise me. What a champ! :D

Melo is up there with them, Because of the hype surrounding Bron he will never be as good, but i like it how Melo is in the Shadows as he has nothing to live up to and is like the underdog which i like.

Boykins only scores alot because he takes a lot of the shots, he is a shoot first PG who doesnt deserve to get 30 minutes a night off the bench IMO.

Just looked at the boxscores of the last couple of games and Evans and Joe Smith havent played either. Hmmm i think they will be moved pretty soon.

I would like this trade to go down.

Memphis Trade:
Mike Miller
Chuck Atkins
Hakim Warrick

Denver Trade:
Evans
Joe Smith
Andre Miller
Najera

I know Memphis probably wouldnt accept but hell that would improve our team a hell of a lot lol.

Wade is way overrated, Melo is underrated, Bron is doing what is on the script...

I hope Melo doesn't 'choke' this postseason though...

Well, I predict that once Shaq is gone, the only thiong Wade will be doing is padding his stats in Miami.

Memphis Trade:
Mike Miller
Chuck Atkins
Hakim Warrick

Memphis aren't gonna trade away their best shooter and best prospect unless Melo is involved

I really hope that Nuggets can get rid of a Joe Smith and Reggie Evans for some good 3 point shooters.

yeah i wasn't to happy after 2 close losses (4 points total i think) but i think if Carmelo can shoot over 50% FG-mainly his clutch shooting, as was said hasn't been so good thus far, and can average about 28 ppg, which shouldn't be to hard for him we should have a fair season.
and with Miller, i didn't know that he was over weight, but i've stopped liking him for a while now, there really is much more quality PG's out there and he's definately running out of steam. He only gets 5+ assists p/game because he has Anthony and K-Mart going up for an alley ever minute.
I think we need to run more plays through Camby and get him off to a good start like the start of last season (Y)

We play the knicks tomorrow, They got no Francis, Curry really sucks, i reckon we will win this comfortably if and thats a big IF, we play our own game and not the other teams, thats one of our problems i hope we can get over. I'm looking to see Melo score over 30 in this game, cos no one on that team can guard him.

Shit i rekoned we'd kill Minnyi n season opener, but guess what? we lost. Nuggets got to play 48 minute game, not 43-44 like they played vs LAC and Minny.

The Clippers got lucky in that game. We had no one to guard KG properly, he is like 3 - 4 inches taller than K-mart. If you look at the knicks we out match them pretty good

Knicks Denver
PG - Marbury PG- Miller
SG - Crawford SG - JR
SF - Q- Rich SF - Melo
PF - Frye PF - K- mart
C- Curry C - Camby

we outmatch them in the center position, small forward, possibly SG and possibly Power Forward.

The nuggets shoot 80% from the FT line and Carmelo has 37 and they cant beat the knicks. This team must have chemistry problems. I dont watch to many nuggets games but it seems that K-Mart (im glad the jazz signed boozer instead) has attitude Millers might have some attitude Carmelo is going to want the ball. Was not that hard to point out before they lost these 3 games. What is everyone else's take on this?

See, just like I said, they choke in the 4th, they jsut cant give a 48 minute effort, luck has nothing to do with it and height neither.

Great game for Carmelo but they ran into the wrong Knick team tonight. They seemed desperate for that one but the Nuggets almost won it on that Carmelo tip so it wasnt that secure a result. I'm expecting great things from Melo so hopefully they will bounce back quickly.

Damn im really annoyed, this should of been a win for us quite comfortably. Carmelo was great but if we dont win it means nothing. If only JR traded spots with Melo it might have been a different story. ALso to keep in mind, The Denver Nuggets always start the season slow, they have done it for the last 3 years so dont get worried.

Players who have to go:

Najera ( we got kleiza who is the same type of player if not better, also Energy Eddie doesnt have that Energy anymore)
Evans ( hasnt played a game yet and doesnt fit with this team anymore)
Joe Smith (He is lingering and also isnt needed on this team)

Also i would of started Nene tonight, Najera isnt a proven starter, plus Nene would of killed Curry with Strength.

Nuggets need defense more than anything else. When the Knicks score 109 points, outrebound, and outblock a team that's pretty bad.

That's the problem with JR Smith and why he has a problem finding a home in the NBA, he literally mentally shuts off half of the game, the defensive half. He might as well just stay at the other side of the court.

Kenyon Martin will be having surgery now. The Nuggets shoulda traded him in the Summer... not that they would have got much I guess... Well, least they still got Nene!

And is Dermarr and his funk hairdo still in town? I read that even Sam Cassell laughed at him and said something to the Nuggets bench and they all cracked up. (Y)

yeah Barbosa would be fucking awesome, but i doubt we'd be able to get him w-o gettin ridd of Melo, he's a quality player.

Good Win today vs 76's 108-101, strangely i think we're up on point differentiall even up 3 losses and 1 win  1 point loss, 2 point loss and 3 point loss i think. Then a 7 point win and were 1 up
31 points for Melo aswell :o :D
