NBA most emotional moments..

Postby Doobie on Mon Aug 21, 2006 8:25 am

Well I really don't remember many NBA moments like this since I started watching basketball a few years ago, but there is one imagine that I have seen that sticks in my head. Don't remember when exactly this happened but it was during fathers days in a playoff game I believe the Bulls won it and MJ went to the locker room crying since his father passed away or something. Everytime I look at him on the floor in that picture I start to cry. Any other emotional moments that you remember?

Reggie Miller's final game...

I'm not sure if it was emotional to everyone, but Desmond Mason, right after he got traded to the Bucks from the Sonics, sat on the Buck's bench for a Bucks vs Sonics game in Seattle because the two teams played like a day after the trade deadline, and after the game was over he went out into the middle of the court and got a standing ovation for what seemed like 5 minutes while he thanked the fans...

Well mine isnt a teary eyed emotional type, its more of a run up and down kicking over stuff and screaming like a gorilla's vagina type. Robert Horry hitting that straight-away game winning 3 pointer after Kobe and Shaq shot blanks. Awesome how much money that shit saved me since I was betting on it. Not to mention only abut 5% of my class were Laker fans so we got run our lip all day long. (y)

Not really cry-over-it emotional, but happy emotional... the moment was Jordan's last game as a Bull, where he hit the game winning shot to win the NBA Championship after he shoved Bryon Russel aside... that game was just awesome (Y)

i have a wallpaper of that shot...

anyway, most emotional moment? i have to say when jordan won a championship against the sonics.
I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok.

Hm, I have a few... several from this years playoffs.

1. The Heat winning the championship... although it wasn't quite as dramatic as some of the other games

2. Raja Bell sending gm 5 against the clips into 2OT with a contested 3

3. Robert Horry hitting the 3 against the Kings... damn I was pissed

4. Shaq being traded and the demise of the Lakers, and rise of my fav team 8-)

Joe Dumars last game as a Pistons, as Hawks knocked Detroit out 3-2. He got a standing ovation and everyone congratulated him (Y)

MJ's Game 6 winner.....that was the perfect way to go out. Couldn't have scripted it better.

Detroit win Game 5 & championship 04

Detroit lose Game 5, win Game 6, lose Game 7 05

Tay Prince breaks Reggie Millers will to live in ECF 04

Anderson steals the ball from MJ in 95 ECF

Tim Duncan banks a game winner, so everyone thought, until Fisher gets the ball.

Vince Carter shits on the Raptors at the buzzer

just some of my favs.

I will always remember the flagrant foul of Chauncey Billups to Richard Jefferson. That was his last game that season (not counting playoffs). Billups hitting a mid-court jumper against the Nets in ... ¿conference finals? about two years ago. And that's why I hate Billups with all my soul.

What really gets me worked up is the final 35 seconds of a Rockets-Spurs game from 2004... You remember the 13 points in 33 seconds! That is just an unbelievable feat for any ball player and an emotional moment to watch. You can feel T-Mac force the win in that game. That final "For the win..."

The game itself was just a season game that really didn't mean anyhting in the end, but those shots and those plays and the sheer pure will with which TMac won the game for the Rockets is something I will always remember.

He willed it... No talent or open shots or anything easy, but he just wasn't going to be stopped that day... If there's a will, there's a way... My personal basket ball proverb...

1. Dikembe Mutombo embracing the ball after the Nuggets, a No. 8 seed, trailing NBA title favourite Seattle Supersonics 2-0 in a best of 5 series....series turned around & guys like Robert Pack became Anderson Hunt's for that series....I remember watching 2-3 games from that series....absolutely brilliant....no other can top it....

Soooo many emotional moments from last year's playoffs...

-Game 4, Round 1 Suns vs. Lakers. Kobe makes the layup to send the game into overtime. Nash loses the ball in overtime, Kobe nails the game winner. I nearly cried.

- Game 6, Round 1. Tim Thomas hits the 3 to send the game to OT!

-Don't remember which game, but Raja Bell hitting the 3 to send the game to double OT. That was just an unbelievable moment.

-Game 1, WCF. Diaw hits the beautiful fadeaway to win the game. My hopes were high after that game...

Reggie Miller's 8 pts. in 8 secs? against the Knicks.
Reggie Miller doing the "choke" to the NY fans, especially Spike Lee.
Reggie Miller pushing MJ in the ECF and making the game winning shot.
Reggie Miller making that long heaved 3 pointer against the Nets during a playoff game.
Allen Iverson's crossover in the 2001 Finals, making Tyronn Lue fall down, AI making the shot, and stepping over Lue.

Yeah, but that pretty much killed what could've been a beautiful franchise. Plus, it ruined Reggie Miller's last hopes at possibly reaching the finals and getting a title. Would've been more of an emotional moment to see him with Jermaine and Artest and crew hoisting a trophy, perfect ending for someone who played for Indiana his whole career.

- Michael Jordan's last game as a Wizard, and his final All Star game.
- Vince Carter hitting the game winning 3 with 0.1 seconds left on the clock after Calderon missed the free throw. I wanted to strangle Calderon and Carter that Sunday afternoon.
- Reggie Miller's final game

The deaths of Bobby Phills, Drazen Petrovic, Malik Sealy, Reggie Lewis, Jason Collier, Yinka Dare were all very emotional. And the games immediately following them as well.
