You're invited! Be a part of the excitement at the Sonics NBA Draft Party on Wednesday, June 28 from 4-9 p.m. at Experience Music Project. The Sonics currently hold the 10th pick in round one, and 40th and 53rd picks in round two. Who will join recent Sonics draft picks Robert Swift (2004), Earl Watson (2001), Luke Ridnour (2003) and Johan Petro (2005) in Sonics Green and Gold? Come find out live at EMP.

Watch ESPN's live coverage of the 2006 NBA Draft and Sonics' radio play-by-play announcer David Locke's live blog will be directly from the Sonics draft room. Enjoy specials on Miller Brewing Company products and free appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages compliments of the Revolution Bar & Grill, a new Schwartz Brothers Restaurant property located inside EMP. In thanks for attending this live event, you'll also receive a commemorative Sonics 40th Anniversary gift.

Locke's live blog will feature an exclusive look inside Sonics headquarters as the coaches and basketball staff navigate the Draft. Immediately following the Sonics first pick (the 10th overall selection), a representative of the Sonics coaching staff will make an appearance to provide commentary.

We look forward to seeing you at the NBA Draft Party and Sonics 40th Anniversary tip-off event!

I'd doubt they'd be having a draft party if they were just using their 2 second round picks. A lot of rumors have been swirling around that the sonics will trade their first rounder for a veteran PF, but it seems that they'll likely keep this one now.
