Pierce shot 17-for-36 from the field and 16-for-20 from the free-throw line to become the first Celtic to score 50 since Larry Bird had 50 on Nov. 10, 1989.

wow the first since bird? that feels like decades ago

I'm liking Paul Pierce's enthusiasm this season. He's playing great and apparently his lack of motivation shown in the past is over.

Nice work by Pierce. He's really having an outstanding season right now!

However... Anyone see Bron's Triple double? Amazing! (Y)

Paul Peice is a smooth player and that 50 points showed how good of a player he is...

Good on ya Paul.

Good job for both players. LBJ stumbled again in the clutch in the first overtime.. missed a layup!! but he came up with the win in the end :|
Did you guys see Lebron dunking over West? that was pretty good

Nah, he saw the game where Pierce got 50 but didn't notice any guy named Lebron...

Let me be cliché and say: "I don't care how good my stats are, as long as my team gets the W."
Well, PP obviously only has the stats working for him.

"Paul Peirce?!!!"

man.. look at bron's stats plus the clutch Win...

43 points on 50% shooting..12 rebounds..11 assists... 4 blocks and 2 assists. Currently the leader of triple doubles this season over Jason Kidd.

Who was it that said he couldnt play defence again? Oh thats right..everyone!.

4 blocks is nice, but if the other guy scores 50 points on you i'm not sure that still qualifies as "great defense".

i love that pierce scored 50 but clearly the talk should be about lebron, if only for the fact that his team won. either way it was a great game to watch.

It was implied by you saying " Who was it that said he couldnt play defence again? Oh thats right..everyone!. "

I want to see what he does in the playoffs though before giving him a channel lol.

but Bryant wasn't in the playoffs last year and he already has his own network, ESPN. I didn't figure it out until I paid attention to NBA coast to coast and watched some sportscenter episodes last week

Greg Anthony is saying he would rather choose Bryant instead of Jordan if he were to start a franchise.

For the Memphis vs Lakers game, they show 4 lakers highlights and 1 Memphis highlight, which wasn't even a game winner. Memphis won the game btw

and last nite, in Sportscenter one of the highlights from the Lakers game is this sequence- "on a fast break- Smush Parker attempts a dunk, misses. Bryant get the rebounds and then trips"

anywho- everyone plays defense. Just some do it better then others ;)

Pierce was simply amazing that game.

First off, LeBron James is the complete opposite of CLUTCH.

Secondly, Paul Pierce is the crossover master and schooled lebron like no other.

3rd, Pierce made made those last 2 free throws at the end of regulation, and all of these people have been saying "Pierce can't make free throws down the stretch." Well let me tell you something. Just look. Just watch. Paul Pierce, he does all of the little things. He rebounds, he's so friggen strong, he never falls down, he motivates the young guys, he's a great team leader, and he IS clutch. I don't see how you can think this guy is bad. It's just impossible. And, if he didn't get fouled at at the end, the Celtics would have definetly won that game.

Paul Pierce had an unpresident career night, and it deserves to go in the record books. Shot after shot, time in and time out. I mean, in the 1st half LeBron was lightin' it up. No doubt about it.

But, the 4th quarter is Paul Pierce's nickname. If you hand him the basketball, he's deadly.

Even last year on sportcenter LeBron James said "Paul Pierce is the toughest player in the leauge to guard."

Not only that, but he can BURN you. This guy is amazing, and I don' see how he only had 450,000 all star votes. I mean, c'mon. Chris Webber had more than that...

All I have to say is Paul Pierce is a warrior, and he'll do anything to help his team win. Even though they're 20-32 this season, and not even in the top 10 standings in the east.

Nuff said.

But Kobe has made the playoffs in his career. How has his career been in the post season again?

As for Greg Anthony, he can't even beat Stephen A. Smith in a debate. Tim Legler is a much better analyst on shootaround.

Are you talking about Paul Pierce's playoff career? LOL. It's been absolutely amazing!!

In 2002, he took a HORRIBLE Boston Celtics team to the eastern conference finals, and lost to the nets.

He absolutely shuts down the Pacers every time they play eachother.

Especially that year when he pulled up Al Harrington's eye for the buzzer beater.

Oh, and how about the greatest post season come-back in nba history against the nets in 2002. He absolutely OWNED.

Oh, uh, how about when he came back down 20 against the pacers in the 4th quarter in the playoffs and won. He was a complete beast.

Ha, and he shut down the 76ers in 2002. Won by like 30. 3-pointer, after 3-pointer, after 3-pointer. He was insane.

Am I forgetting anything?

Ah yes, LAST YEAR. I don't even think I should speak anymore. I'm just too correct.

Bryant hasn't made it to the playoffs without Shaq yet, we'll see how Kobe does solo this year (maybe).
