"I didn't know that kid had that big a balls. The guy has cajones," Kobe told Arash. "I think it was good for him. I challenge him every day in practice pretty hard. I actually told Andrew on the bench before he got in the game, 'C'mon man you got to step up. When I was your age I was going at Jordan, what you gonna do?' I was trying to pump him up telling him I was going at Mike and he just got this look on his face and was like, 'I got it, I got it.'"

On "Inside The NBA," things really got crazy. It was late by the time it finally came on (about 1:35 a.m.), but well worth staying up for. The show opened with some fake pictures of Shaq and Kobe vacationing together, sitting in a hot tub together, holding hands on a beach.

Charles Barkley noted, "Y'all should've put Brokeback Mountain in the caption of that picture."

As everyone cracked up, Chuck turned to Kenny Smith and said, "Kenny, you were a stunt double in Brokeback Mountain. That's the first role you had since Deliverance."

By now you could hear the crew laughing. Ernie Johnson valiantly tried to reign things in, but Kenny said something like, "Charles, I saw Brokeback Mountain, and I didn't know your autobiography was out."

To which Charles responded with, "I was wondering why you've been wearing cowboy boots lately."

   This one was precious.

. Barkley at his best.

I cant believe how badly this guy gets criticised. When he doesn't acknowledge teamates, he's a jerk. When he does, he's a bigger jerk. When he and Shaq have a rivarly, its all kobes fault. When it ended, its all becuase of shaq being the "bigger" man. When it did end, people also are saying its bad for the nba that it did end. Are they also going to criticise him for the lockout in 99? Seriously, he and Iverson went hard after Jordan and now he's getting blasted for trying to use that as an example when trying to fire up a teamate? If that was Tmac (if he actually did play jordan tough in 98, which he didnt), and he used that as motivation for Yao Ming, casual fans would love that..

totally agree with you. this definitely gets my blood boiling, it seems like everything he does it's not good enough. you should see how ignorant some of these fools are on niketalk. he busts out a great 62 point performance and the haters came pouring in, downplaying his performance because he got 0 assists (compared to Jordan's 69 - 18 - 6 line against the cavs). then a couple nights later, steve nash got something like 28 points and 22 assists and you'd see a couple thread titles saying " nash's 28/20 double double >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> kobe's 62 ". the fact that these morons use kobe as a measuring stick just shows how great of a player he really is. i guess people hate him like crazy because he has the potential to touch the legacy of jordan's greatness -- and some jordan fans can't handle that.

Kobe gets criticized because Kobe doesn't help his situation. Plus, when you're an alleged felon, people don't forget. OJ Simpson might have been aquitted but obviously people haven't forgiven him. I doubt Kobe will ever be forgiven by a large portion of fans, no matter how much team success he has.

not everybody hates kobe you know and im not anti-kobe.... i actually like him because he is leading his team somewhere this season... i was just remembering the 98 allstar game and if that seemed anti-kobe well it wasn't you can go back to a couple of anti kobe threads and look at what ive wrote for him.... im not his biggest fan but i don't blast him like some ppl did with nashes double double
