Sow to the D-League

Postby cklitsie on Mon Nov 21, 2005 5:24 pm

The Toronto Raptors announced Sunday they have assigned second-year forward Pape Sow (Pop SOW) to the Arkansas RimRockers of the NBA Development League. Sow will continue to be included on the Raptors’ roster and will remain on the team’s inactive list.

I don't really know Sow, never seen him play. Raptors fans are always pretty hyped about him though, so is this actually a good move for him to learn or should he have stayed on the NBA roster?

I think he should be in the D-League, he's still pretty raw, but if he can put together a decent offensive game then I think he'll do pretty well in this league because he's the only Raptor big man who can defend.

I would have liked to see him stay, because the Raptors have almost nothing in the frontcourt, but I guess it's for the best that he goes.

atleast more efficient then loren woods in live  , i use him as my 2nd/3rd string centre (i play villanueva at centre at times at centre over sow). hes fairly strong in the game, can basically back down most centres in the game, also a better rebounder then araujo most of the time.

On, nooooooooo! Not Pape Sow! Considering the state of their roster, he could very well be their franchise player.

Sow has *overused word* potential. He's very raw, like Its_asdf said, so maybe time in the D-League could help him develop.

Sow did ok in his 2 or 3rd game lastseason, he really hustles for rebounds, but I guess he's still got lots to learn.

He is like Milicic in Detroit, everybody is hyped up about him, but he isn't anything special. He should be in D-League for about 3 years.

Chris Bosh....

Chris Bosh can't really be considered to be a Raptor. You should look at this period of his carreer as something imaginary. We all know he'll end up as a Laker.

He's a restricted free agent when his contract is up, so we'll have the final say in whether or not he's staying.

Also, Bosh looks like a dinosaur so he's a perfect fit as the Raptors' franchise player. (Y)

LOL, looks like a dinosaur hahahaha, man thats funny. BTW, I know for a fact that no player wants to stay in Toronto unless they start winning and getting into the playoffs. If they get into the playoffs this year, it'll be a great year, because players would wantto stay there, and compete next year and battle even ahrder to earn a higher spot and get farther.

IMO, he would average the same stats last year or year before if there wasn't for LB..So his "rookie-year" is starting just now..

With Darko, everyone assumes Larry Brown just buried him on the bench for no reason and that he would've been great if he got minutes. He's playing well now, but he's been in the league for 3 years... if this is what he's doing in his 3rd year (few points, few points, a block) then maybe he deserevd to be benched in his rookie year. He brought it on himself by declaring too early.

Good job Sow, he's still the Raptors best interior defender, even though he's not on the team, I'd like to see him come back soon, and help in the interior rotation.

Doesn't matter where he's playing, 40 points and 14 rebounds is just beastly.

Tell me how this works, okay?

The Raptors are 1-13.

Sow was sent the the D-League from the Raptors.

Sow scored 40 points in the D-League.

Why the fuck isn't Sow on the Raptors?

You're kidding, right? Graham and Villaneuva are doing pretty good, drop Darrick Martin instead, we signed him after getting rid of Sow, which was a stupid move by Bad-cock.
