Which Conference is the strongest?

With many players switching conferences and teams in the East getting stronger, which conference do you think is currently the best (in 05-06 season)?

THe powers definitely shifted to the west, alot of it having to do with the heats offseason.

Although my favorite to win the title is the spurs

the acquisition of walker, posey, and williams made the west stronger?
or did you mean the opposite?

overall- The west
Top 4 teams- the east

West is more balanced than the East.
The west bottom 5 would beat the east bottom 5. The east still has 4 winless teams

I agree aswell!!
The west has a wide range of players to chose from and the east only have the top 5 or 6 teams to pick players from. the west have every team to pick from.

I think it's about equal. Last year, both Conferences boasted one team that missed the playoffs with a .500 or better record, trades have spread the talent a bit more evenly again and there are at least a couple of teams in each Conference that you can make a really good case for in terms of winning it all this year (whereas in years past the only perceived "real" contenders were out West). The West still has a slight edge in that it has a couple more teams that are on the verge of being elite, but I think the whole "East is weak/East is a complete joke" assessment is becoming outdated.

In terms of C, East is better.. (Shaq/Jermaine/B. Wallace/Margloire) (East)..
vs Duncan(west)... whoelse..

If Duncan's not a C, then there's no great C to match with the east.

You forgot people like Yao Ming and Pao Gasol. Also, Jermaine O'Neal is not a C, he's a PF.

Standings

Postby dinocarlo on Fri Nov 11, 2005 5:51 pm

Based on the standings the west is more balanced and only has 5 teams under .500 and I don't think the Suns, Kings, Nuggets and Rockets will finish that way. In the East, the Central Division really rules cause all 5 teams there has a chance to be in the playoffs and are in the top 8 right now. Only the Heat, Wizards and Nets are in the East top 8 and outside the central division.

We're only 5 games into the season though.. LOTS can and will change. I agree with everything Andrew said, the conferences are about equal now. Although, the Pistons are owning the Western Conference on their road trip right now
