Hey its me again Arenas. Just wondering why Marquis Daniels of Dallas doesnt own the starting point of dallas. No disrespect to Jason Terry but Marquis is a streetball legend and has more talent and potential than JTerry.

Again, wrong section. I suppose this would be best suited to NBA Talk.

Are you saying that you want Marquis to be the starting pointguard? JT is a better point then him and what about Devin harris?

Just because he is a streetball legend doesn't mean anything. But if Daniels plays the point, then Terry and Harris won't get that many minutes. With Darrell probably gone, we could probably see more of Devin Harris, since he has a lot of potential and he didn't really find that many minutes. Daniels is a versatile and talented player, but I wouldn't want him to take any minutes away from Harris. Marquis will probably get more minutes anyway, since Michael Finely might get released.

i've always thought Daniels was a backup for Finley, the SG role. Now that Finley is gone, he'll probably start at the 2 spot. Terry and Harris will still be the PG for Dallas.

Agreed, Daniels is more of a 2, and JT/Harris deserve the minutes they get.

if being a street ball legend translates to anything in the NBA, Rafer Alston (Skip to my Lou) would be the MVP of the NBA this year

He was once called the best Point Guard on the planet by SLAM Magazine.

Maybe it's because I'm not black, but SLAM seems like a bunch of wiggers putting together a "basketball" magazine. Just imagine how many wiggers submit to the "Trash Talk" section. Regardless, everything I see in SLAM I consider one big joke, even more so if they called Rafer Alston the best point guard on the planet.

I guess SLAM never thought of Jason Kidd, Gilbert Arenas, Steve Nash, Steve Francis, Chauncey Billups, Stephon Marbury, Mike Bibby as the best point guard, but hey, it's not like every one of those point guards that I just named are better than Rafer Alston or anything.........

I think the title was "The Best Point Guard you've never heard of" or something along those lines.

SLAM has the sports analysis of Bill Walton (ie whatever is hot in the last 10 minutes) but you cant deny they love the game to death.

Think of it as being written by wide eyed 10 year olds and it's pretty good.

SLAM Magazine like brash predictions..."Nets champs by 2001. Count on it" comes to mind.

not only that, but you gotta know when this was written... my guess was that it was about 2000 or 2001. (when no one has ever heard of him)

He can play both the 1 and the 2, but JT played pretty well for the Mavs last year, especially in the playoffs. Nelson loved Daniels, but I don't think Avery sees the same things in him that Nelson saw. Avery is about playing tough D a lot and that's something Daniels has to work on. D and better decision making. This is the summer for that decides his future in Dallas. Avery is trying to figure out a role for him and he has serious talent, but he has to mature a bit.
