I might bring back some old arguments, anyways, when I saw Artest I had a weird feeling. On one side, I still condemn that episode and his behavior, on the other side I felt very angry for he seems to be the only person responsible for what happened...or at least the main responsible, certainly the person who got the main punishment for that. Think about the Pistons, think about Ben Wallace pushing him and still running after him even if he wasn't reacting at all. Think about the Pistons audience and how they easily got away with it and even got the chance to do it again (agains Iverson in the playoff).
I don't know whether the problem is Artest or not. Certainly not all Pistons fans are idiots, but some are for sure. All I can see is an evident protection of the league towards the Pistons, and I would like someone explaining me why an organization shouldn't be held responsible for its fans and their behavior inside its Arena...If what happend last winter was just an episode, then fine, but since there have been other signs of aggressivness inside the Palace in Auburn Hills, including the Iverson Episode and a false bomb warning in the locker room of the visiting team (guess who? the pacers..) then I strongly believe something has to be done also against the Pistons, especially becasue, as of today, I still haven't heard any Pistons Players condemning their fans attitude. All I heard were words of praising.
I don't know whether Artest is truly sorry or not, but it looked like a brain-washed guy who had killed someone without reason, when instead he didn't kill nor mean to kill anyone, and also he was deeply and repetedly provocated.
I am not a Pacers fans, nor a Pistons hater. But I don't see a balanced attitude by Stern towards the two organizations.
Do you?
