Did Bron avoid the dunk contest cause of....

The Smith's inclusion?

I gave this some thought.....I mean last year he was quoted as to have saying he will be in this years contest....now I know he was carrying a slight injury....but I have a feelin he didnt want to enter the contest was after hearing the two Smith's would be in it.....Im sure Bron would know that if he lost the contest that it would make him loose some of his popularity...since lots of ppl r sayings hes prolly like one of top 3 dunkers around.

I dunno maybe Im saying this cause Im a JR fan.....but theirs no doubt that both the Smith's showed plenty of sik talent in the HS dunk contest....n maybe Bron just sensed that hey may not get the crown n he'd be loosing to players that are of a "lower ranking" than he is.

:? so he'd lose popularity if he came 3rd behind the two Smith's because people think he's one of the top 3 dunkers around?

Who the fuck cares? The Slam Dunk Contest was over a month ago. It was good. It didn't need fucking Lebron James to boost it's quality.

Trez, I don't know if you saw the HS dunk contest, but it was nothing special. A girl won. That pretty much sums it up.

Lebron isn't even that good of a dunker. Yeah, he gets up, but it doesn't look that nice. Neither graceful, nor powerful. That's just my opinion and I'm glad he wasn't in the dunk contest.

if u dont fucking care...why the fuck are you posting?

and Candace Parker only won it cause she completed all her fucking dunks.....while the Smith's, Darius Washington and I cant remember the other fucking dude in it...went for dunks that were fuckin jaw droppin....and theywould have fuckin been easy 9's and 10's if they completed the fuckin dunks in the fuckin nba slam dunk contest.

Which year was LeBron in when the girl won?

I saw one dunk contest on ESPN that LeBron won and they were hyping him up so huge. He did some good dunks, but nothing spectacular.

trez.. i think what gloveguy is trying to say is that this should be a non issue- the dunk contest was great without him and its frustrating, to me at least, how james handled his decisions on not participating in the past dunk contests: last year he actually showed some immaturity by refusing to enter because he felt he should have been on the all star team. then this year, procrastinating his decision to not enter. he is not above the league and it's been proven again that the dunk contest can 'survive' without his presence

lol you kiss your mom with that mouth?

It's not just that, but he was coming off a back-to-back. So would play 3 games in a row (back to back then rookie game) then dunk the next day and then play in the all-star game. That's 5 days straight of hardly any rest and he was suffering a cold.

i saw Lebron did an underleg dunk at a regular game when he was in high school..
so i thought he may be a creative dunker.. since he had done such high difficulty dunk in a game.

i agree wit u... hes not a great dunker. hes got crazy hops and hangtime... but 90% of his dunks r the same exact one, where he goes up and stretches his right hand out and jams it down... its not skilled. vince carter, wit his injuries, and his age, still does more creative dunks BY FAR in games then lebron....

The dunk contest was great, but I wish Lebron was in it at the least to show that he really is a good dunker. I agree with the people before saying that he only has a great jump with no power and no flare. I want to see him defend his rep by at least throwing down a few good dunks. I don't even care if he wins, if he threw down some good dunks I'd have respect for him. But regardless Josh Smith really made this year's contest. I want to see Josh, Vince, J-Rich and Lebron go at it next year though, that would really be crazy.

I'd like to see him compete just once. But if he has no intention of ever competing, he should just say so.

I agree. I don't want to hear him say, "I'm a last minute kind of guy" for next year's contest.

Dont know why "king" James avoided dunk contest, but the boy shot 3-20 last night, with 15% shooting single-handedly failing his team.

There's no need for Lebron to go to the dunk contest. Hopefully next dunk contest has Jr and Josh facing each other in the final round. Chris Anderson sabotaged JR's dunk.
