Antoine Walker back in Boston? Say it ain't so..

Postby Full Surface on Sat Jan 15, 2005 11:28 am

Ainge wants to get Antoine Walker back and rumor has it that he is involved in a 3-team that that includes the T-Wolves, Celtics, and Hawks. First of all, why did he trade away Walker in the first place? But hold on a second.., he does get to keep LaFrentz as well.

This is what the deal is about (if it goes through).

Hawks get:
Latrell Sprewell

Celtics get:
Antoine Walker

T-Wolves get:
Gary Payton
Ricky Davis

I hope Spree is happy. The T-Wolves basically fucked him over. His days in Atlanta are going to be miserable.

I was just thinking that. Spree's going to murder someone in Atlanta, or do the fashionable thing and just not bother showing up until they trade him.

Twolves finally get Ricky Davis after the cavs matched their offer to him a couple of seasons ago.

Hudson is fairly injury prone, and a really good backup pg in the playoffs always helps. if this happens, you have to expect that Wally is next. The team it dowsn't make sense for is Boston. If they already have an emerging star in Al Jefferson, who's just turned 19 a few weeks ago, why would you take Walker back, unless they plan on not resigning him after this season and let Jefferson and Allen take over.

Actually the way Griffen has been playing they should just move KG to the center position. Griffen was blocking shots left and right last night.

Well well, but KG wanted to play PG. No joke, he wanted to become the big Magic Johnson when he had his tryouts. This was talked about during 98 all stars game ;)

celtics lose ricky who's been playing well. and GP also.. but right now pierce.. is only like playing at 80%.. without walker

but with walker back.. i can see pierce upping his scoring avg to about ~24 and rebounding harder.. and walker's gonna be a 20/10/5 guy again.. great for pierce/walker.. as long as the other guys can play well defensively and keep them in the game til the 4th quarter.. pierce has faded the last 2 years in the 4th quarters.. he used to be the man in the 4th quarters.. this is going to be interesting

but T-Wolves get 2 well 1 really good player in Ricky Davis because lets face it, Gary Paytons basically non-existant

If the MVP of his basketball team is how you define non-existent, well I guess you're right.

The Wolves arguably get the two best players in this trade. Sprewell is a headcase while Walker brings pretty much any team he can't control down. Payton is a great leader, who Kevin Garnett will love to play with, and Davis is a great option off the bench or possibly as a starter at the two.

Nope, it started with some guy who was playing KG at PG in his dynasty because it was his "natural position"... the fact that he constantly tried to back it up before eventually disappearing created the I cannot believe my starting 5... thread(s)
