Well im glad to see Jermaine back . I still dont see the big deals cuz for me its gonna be like 2 normal basketball games, thats probably it . People are makin to much of a fuss with the Pacers - Pistons brawl or the Lakers drama. We need to let this go and concentrate on the game , this isnt an action movie , its basketball.

i would agree with you - but the game is being played in Indiana so there probably wont be a fan revolt against Jermaine.

But the NBA is fighting it? It was just some arbritator (sp?) who cut it by 10 games. Russ Granik said it doesn't mean shit and they're challenging it in court.

I think the ruling on O'Neal is fair, the NBA should at least consider it. But it's likely they'll challenge it and it will stand, thus increasing the gap between the player's association and the league. As I said before, I understand David Stern's desire to preserve the league's image, discipline players and maintain order, his stance is not helping with another lockout looming. And just in case he's forgotten, the last lockout didn't endear anyone involved to a whole lot of NBA fans.

Maybe. But for what I know the NBA is not challenging that decision but rather it is challenging the legitimacy of an arbitrator in the whole issue.

Check this out:
NBA Deputy Commissioner Russ Granik issued the following statement: “The operative language of our collective bargaining agreement provides that any dispute involving a suspension imposed upon a player ‘for conduct on the playing court’ may be appealed only to the Commissioner and not to an arbitrator. As a result, we have consistently maintained that the arbitrator has no legitimate role in this matter. While we obviously agree with Mr. Kaplan’s decision upholding virtually all of the suspensions, we don’t agree with his conclusion that the conduct did not occur on the playing court, and we have no choice other than to challenge it in federal court.”

Its the same thing. The nba is saying the arbitrator has no authority, so basically it doesnt matter what he says. Therefore, they are fighting the reduced suspension.

If this was a conspiracy, Stephen Jackson and Ron Artest would also be back....

Uhm..maybe you guys are right..maybe I'm just too suspicious.

But in my opinion we will see O'Neil on Christmas and that is just too much to be a coincidence...c'mon..who was gonna watch Pistons Vs "Pacers substitutes"?? We'll see, I might be wrong.

in any case, I doubt the NBA can challenge the decision to court in 2 days.....they will eventually..but just to save the face...in the meanwhile Jermaine wll have played...

hopefully he'll be rusty!!!

i just can't stomache another Pistons loss at this point in time....they're too good to be mediocre. Dumars will no doubt do something about the bench, only Dice is contributing....Delfino is out, Dupree is having a hard time on offense, Hunter is playing too many mins.
