Heat reject Carter for Jones trade?

Postby Jackal on Fri Dec 17, 2004 7:32 am

A source with knowledge of the situation said Jalen Rose-for- Eddie Jones trade talk was never serious. The Raptors, though, did offer Vince Carter for Jones at one point, which the Heat respectfully declined.

Source.

Guess Miami wasn't interested in Carter's salary. Oh well, atleast they didn't get Rose. :?

Wasn't it on the Miami Herald? We didn't even offer Carter for Jones, you can't reject an offer that was never proposed. The only offer we made to Miami was Jalen Rose for Eddie Jones

they probably rejected vc if this is true because he is more injury prone as compared to jones....since jones has only missed a couple of games in recent years unlike vc who has missed alot.

They probably feel that eddie jones is a superier defensive player and would need more shots than what ej is getting now to be a more effective scorer, which means less shots for shaq and wade. i can see why they turned this down.

Carter is a joke. Anything the raptors get for him will be better for the team than he currently is.

You mean like Eddie Jones' 34.9% FG and what 29% 3PT, and also the frustration he give everyone that watches Miami, and his huge 10.1 PPG, yup, definately.

Carter isn't trying and has his worst numbers and it's better than EJ who has really digressed this seaosn.

yep- jones is having a pretty disappointing season so far. how hard is it to make an open perimeter shot? kinda reminds me of lindsey hunter on the lakers that one year
