This can't be happening...

A lot of times this stuff happens because of some incident that makes that certain league look bad. Like for the NHL the lockout started with the Bertuzzi incident.

I don't think it will happen though, these things rarely happen in the NBA, so unless another big fight breaks out I don't think we should have anything to worry about.

Last week's incident may have been a disgrace to the league and encourages the use of cliches such as "giving the NBA a black eye", but if the last lockout is anything to by, a labour strike is just as likely to hurt the NBA's popularity. And if a lockout is inevitable, let it be like the brief one that occured prior to the 1995/1996 season - a couple of weeks of sniping and arguing followed by an interrupted season and an offseason that allowed for the usual player movement and training camp.
