How can u say the Grizzlies won't make the playoffs? I know I'm very biased about my Grizzlies, but they will make the playoffs  From some source, it said the Grizzlies and Warriors did end up making out a deal to get Dampier because there was no other offer better than Battier and Wright. Nazr and Harrington isnt better than that. Neither is Croshere and Pollard. Well even if the Grizz don't get Dampier they will be top 6 seed in the playoffs.

1.Spurs(Did nothing but add Barry to the team and let Turkoglu go. Barry is a better shooter and will help spread the defense. Parker will also be more experienced)
2.Twolves(Favorites to win the championship this year)
3.Kings(I don't think they will get this spot, but they have been playing together longer than Kmart has been playing with the Nuggets so there will be more team chemistry here)
4.Nuggets(Nothing to say but one of the best front-lines in the league)
5.Grizzlies(They did nothing but add to the team. Adding Cardinal will really help the team hustle. I see the Grizzlies making a little more noise this year and you expect them to get a big man before the playoffs.)
6.Rockets(No depth and may not end up getting their PG. I just don't see them being very good during the season, but when playoff time come I can see them beating the Kings if Kings hold down the 3rd spot.)
7.Mavs(No Nash, and they haven't did anything else to the team. Stackhouse is injury prone and I dont think he will feel the void of Jamison)
8. Jazz or Lakers(I don't know what will happen right here. Jazz almost made a run at the end of the season last season, and I can see them taking this from the Lakers. The Jazz did nothing but add to the team and didn't lose anybody, but maybe Ostertag. Jazz will also have a good front-line. Lakers front-line won't be big enough to compete in the West)

East:
1. Detroit(Defending champions and they added Mcdyess to the team which will improve their inside presence even more)
2. Indiana(It's tough to leave Indiana out. Adding Stephen Jackson who is a proving scorer will definitely keep them in the top 2 or 3)
3. Miami(Shaq will make this team suceed. With the Nets losing their players, you can expect Miami to make a run.)
4. Milwaukee(Haven't made them many trades or anything, but they will just be even better this season with more team chemistry.)
5. New York(Isiah Thomas wants a winner this season and they will get the 5th seed)
6. New Orleans(Adding Chris Anderson and Mo-Pete will give them a pretty good team)
7. Chicago(They had a great draft and I can see them making the playoffs)
8. Boston(I dont know I just couldnt find nobody else  )

Aren't they changing playoff format? I thought they were changing it so that conferences didn't matter

Playoff format is the same, but the new shit division of the Eastern conference (the one with Orlando, Charlotte, Atlanta...) will get a berth. So unless there's another good team in the division I'm forgetting, look for Orlando to be the 3 seed. I don't have time to post my prediction right now, I'm leaving tommorrow.

Probably way too early to make accurate predictions, but I'll throw caution to the wind. :)

East
1. Detroit
2. Miami
3. New Jersey
4. Indiana
5. Milwaukee
6. Boston
7. Cleveland
8. Pretty much open

West
1. Minnesota
2. San Antonio
3. Los Angeles Lakers
4. Memphis
5. Sacramento
6. Dallas
7. Denver
8. New Orleans or Houston

Please note that I've organised these rankings by playoff seeding. Even if they finish second in the East, the Pacers will be seeded fourth in the playoffs.

EDIT: Completely forgot about the Kings.

I think they might still find a way to be the best in the Atlantic, thus securing one of the top three playoff seedings. I ordered my predictions by potential playoff seeding rather than win/loss records.

New Jersey is gonna suck now,the only way I see them actually doin better than expected is if RJ can have a mvp type season and Kidd steps his game up alittle more

NY Looks better than NJ to me if the dampier trade goes in and Kidd is traded

NY would look better no matter what cuz NJ would suck without J Kidd.
