Hakeem has already beaten Shaq, in 94 in the finals...
Hakeem - Shaq
Robinson - Duncan
Pippen - KG
Jordan - Kobe
Payton - Kidd
Since we're talking about them in their primes...
Shaq - Hakeem
Hakeem Olajuwan plays the lane like Shaq, grabs boards like Shaq, but has an infoulable touch from everywhere. This man would even hit the occasional 3, something that Shaq can't say.
Advantage = Hakeem
Robinson - Duncan
Fundamentally, Duncan is better, but if I were to pick, it would be the Admiral. He is a great leader, has more blocks the a brick house, and is a great scorer. It's close, but D-Rob wins it.
Advantage = David Robinson
Garnett - Pippen
This one's tough. Apples and Oranges, but I think I can handle it. Kevin Garnett is undoubtebly the best player in the NBA right now. He has a good mid-range jumper, and is working on a 3 pt shot. He has hustle, heart, and a gift. He can play all positions if he wanted to, but in this case, I'm gonna take Pip. You can't beat Scottie Pippen in shooting. His offense is that great. He had a better shot then MJ, but he was always in his shadow nonetheless. I think Garnett belongs at Center. He would be much more of a threat that way, even thought his usual position is PF.
Advantage = Scottie Pippen
Jordan - Bryant
Here is the question of the century, who's better? For me, Bryant is a better guard, but Jordan is a better athlete. Bryant has a better 3pt shot then MJ did, but that's about it. In clutch, these two individuals are tied, but no one ran the floor like MJ. Oh yeah, and I heard that MJ could dunk?
Advantage = Jordan
Kidd - Payton
This one is easy. Payton and Kidd are tied for their Point Guard abilities, i.e. directing traffic or setting up plays, but Kidd can also play SG. He penetrates like me and Cameron Diaz, baby! (I wish...) He has a great jumper from every spot on the court. There is only one person who is better with directing traffic, passing, and setting up plays, and that is Jason Williams. But in all other aspects, Kidd by far is a genius in the back court.
Advantage = Kidd
All in all, the early 90's athletes would dominate those of today. It wouldn't even be a contest, and if you replace GP with Penny, it would be over.
