yeah you can do that all season long I think. Sometimes people get injuried and teams need a replacement for the injuried player.

You can sign, just not trade, its just a deadline for trading, not for making transactions.

A team can keep signing & releasing till around Playoff time, right?

Yea, and before the playoffs you have to have to set your roster to only 12 players.

IR players cannot play in the playoffs... and anyone signed after March 1st who has played this season cannot go to the playoffs...
