Carter still leading All-Star Ballot

Postby Andrew on Fri Dec 26, 2003 1:38 pm

It's obvious that Vince Carter hasn't lost any popularity after a couple of injury plagued seasons. He still has the most votes, with 1,134,147 and counting.

Some other notes:

 Ben Wallace remains in second place.
 Kobe is a close third, but I still expect him to overtake the Beast
 Shaq's lead on Yao is increasing. There's still a chance for him to start.
 Gary Payton could still start...but I think it will be Francis again
 Despite not being the player he once was, Scottie Pippen is fourth in votes among East forwards

The starting lineups, if the All-Star game was held today:

East:

C: Wallace
F: O'Neal
F: Carter
G: McGrady
G: Iverson

West:

C: O'Neal
F: Duncan
F: Garnett
G: Kobe
G: Francis

Those are the Line Up's I've been voting for, Marbury isn't a fan favorite apparently, so I switched him with Franchise.

wow, Vince Carter might actually deserve it this year! Congrats Vinny!

I'm suprised Lebron Mania didn't earn him a spot at this point in time. Plenty of time I guess!

LeBron's game has picked up lately so expect him to make a late charge for this all-start ballot. People are starting to know him more sinc ehe is scoring a lot more points & the cavs started winning some games ever since Ricky Davis got traded.

even if he doesn't get voted in by the fans, he will be chosen by the coaches to be in the team..

I thought VC rili deserves the spot this year...although the last few games he's showing signs of not playing good D and not driving to the basket to get fouls called...and very few rebounds from VC with his athletisim he should be like Dr.J grabbing double digit in rebounds...

i don't know if you are trying to funny here but this statement is ignorant. as someone pointed out to me last year, with this thinking, dirk nowitzki should have been the starting in the all star game each year he's been in the league. surely germany, his homelandand a vastly populated country, would cast all their votes to get him on the team, right? same with najera, kirilenko, etc

i dotn kow is the China votes have been counted or not, but crawford4MIP4real, as we ALL saw last year chinise pple are alot more passionate about bball and their Yao Ming then the Russian are about Kerelenko, plus Chinas population excides Russians or Mexican or France.
It is knows to EVERYONE that Yao got a start coz of votes form China, and with Yao doing alot better this year and overseas votes hanvt been counted yet, then u can expect Yao to start..

Plus just a though, woulnt it be a bit better for a player to get chosen by coaches rather then by fans? coz as we saw all those years with VC, he got top votes by sitting on the bench, but if u get chosen by the copaches then u know the understand ur game, u kow what im saying?

 i believe that Kirilenko is from the Ukraine not Russia, could be wrong though (????)

secondly, there are 1 billion Chinese ppl in the world alone so a lot will vote for Yao and he will probly start

Yao is playing better .. but he seems to be fading off...
He is not nearly as aggressive as he should be.. AND i still don't see him getting the ball when he does have position.. it gets frustrating for him probally since he does not over power the other centers to get his position.. also he is soo hmm.. "NOT INTO" def.. sometimes he just lets the player go after a pick and roll..
I dont' really like Yao's energy.. Give him half of KG's passion and energy.. he'll really get 22/12/3
I hope this is just b/c he played bball in the summer and he is getting tired..

I remember in preseason he was doing really really well.. like 20/10 with VERY limited mins..

I wanna see Yao be really aggressive.. he'll be a monster

I don't think that many people in China have internet access. That's not a knock on China but they implemented that 1 child per family policy to better the quality of living. So you can't assume that as many families in China have the internet or a computer like in the US or Aussieland, etc.

Either way, Divac should start at centre :D

I wish Ray Allen was hear earlier (except for the fact that we wouldn't have seen the sae Ronald Murray) but then I think he could have been in the All - Star game, I wanted him too but ah well.

Ray Allen is sick

Also what All Star team will Starbury play for/ how are they going to incorperate the votes he got in the West.
