The Raptors and Bulls agreed to a deal Saturday that will send Jalen Rose, Lonny Baxter and Donyell Marshall to Toronto for Antonio Davis, Jerome Williams and Chris Jefferies, ESPN's David Aldridge has learned.

Once again the Bulls get raped. I have no clue wtf the GM is thinking in trading for some post players. We already have Chandler,Curry, and fizer why the hell do we need Williams and Davis? I can't express how pissed I am that we keep rebuilding over and over. We already let go great players in Brad Miller and Ron Artest, now we are letting go Rose basically for free. We have already put up with 5 miserable seasons of "rebuilding". My patience with this team is running out. Just when I think we finally have the pieces to surround and lure a franchise player we keep giving them away.

True they do have a buch of good big men, like Curry, Davis, Tyson WIlliams but this trade was more about the players then what the clur really needs. Like when they made the trade for Rose they got a go-to guy, who had a me only mentality, this year rose has been complaingin ect and the young guys are starting to come on although very insistanly, Davis was not happy in Toronto but neither wal Peterson, i dont know y they didnt include him?!

In DAvis they get VERY GOOD vet help but lack or SGs??

Good trade for the Raptors, but I'm a Bulls fan. Sending Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall was a mistake. I guess you could say changes needed to be made, but this isn't a change for the better; at least, it certainly doesn't look like a change for the better.

i am a Raps and i didn't rili like this trade either...i know Rose and Marshall can produce...but maybe this year they'll be good but next year who know they might be like Antonio Davis...just sliding cuz if i'm correct both Rose and Marshall are 10 or over veterans...

i like the deal for the raptors they got two scorers in my opinion marshall can go off any givin night and rose wont have to worry about losing his starting position in toronto cause now hes the #2 option in toronto
i dont know why chicago would trade for old antonio davis maybe to teach eddy curry and tyson chandler play the post god knows they need help well toronto is a fav. for the playoffs but still not good enough to beat indiana or new jersey.

Bulls fan too. Highly disappointed with this decision. Only part of it i likeis getting the JYD. Curry and Crawford will get more points out of it. Which is nice.
I seem to remember the last time the Bulls made a run for cap space to make a free agency market killing. I also remember who they got out of it. I dont remember, however, seeing Ron Mercer lead us to the promised land again.

Giving away Marshall sucks, but there are still Chandler and Fizer playing the four and now a couple of other guys who in reality are power forwards. What is the damned fascination with power forwards in Chicago?

The positive out of this may be that now Pip plays the three and Crawford can play the two. The negative is that the Bulls gave up too much perhaps so they could play Crawford at the two? Trading for big guys also will effect the minutes of the "toddler twin towers" which is kind of disappointing.

I would have liked to see a straight up swap with Jalen Rose for another player: I suggested Finley earlier. Or maybe a point guard who's a real floor general (depending on offers of course).

It may look like rape right now, but let's wait and see what happens. It might turn out good

as a bulls fan, i'm not entirely happy with the deal, but i do understand the thinking behind the deal. geez where to start?

players, coaching staff, fans thought the bulls were heading into the playoffs this year but clearly the young guys aren't entirely ready yet.

bottom line is addition by subtraction. davis and williams will give the bulls low post presences on defense finally. curry/chandler give up way too many easy baskets downlow due to their youth/understanding of defense rotation. rose/marshall's scoring will be missed but let's face it, rose is a cancer, king of the insincere sincere comments to the media, king of playing no defense. marshall & baxter were added to the deal to sweeten the pot. no team would have traded for rose and his contract unless something good was added to the deal.

bulls should have problems with scoring. maybe another trade will happen. crawford and curry will sure get all the scoring opporunites for now...

man forget it, i'm too drunk to post something about this now.

, this trade was the worst one sided I've seen in a long time. The main player coming can be released without worrying about how productive he was. Plus the Bulls didn't even get Peterson nor Alvin, lol.

Yeah, let's see it the way management does, Pippen will start playing much, can't produce 20 every night but it's great in defense. Hinrich will get much playing time as well together with Gill and those are possible 10 point players.

Apparently some newcomers are no longer needed, they can get the service provided by A. Davis, giving more playing time to Blount who can produce as much as Davis if given the chance, as his stats are saying, that's while paying him 10 times less than what they will have to pay Davis.

Jerome can be useful in some point, with the Raps he got just 1 reb less than Davis while playing almost 10 minutes less than the same, his production will stay the same as he's used to play coming from the bench. Also, he's a hardworking player who at the moment of the trade was the leader of the Raps in stealing.

In the other hand, the Raps got the best offensively, they got 2 players who can produce 30 plus ppg together while paying the same money they were paying to the 2 leaving who were not adding more than 20 ppg together. That was the objective, getting some offense as they have a .500 team leading the league in a neg. dept. (the worst avg. of points scored per game)

Yeah, they got rid of the rebs leaders of the team, but Donyell showed he can get as much rebs as Davis if given the chance, of course in less minutes as well, and someone else will have to step up to take the rebs Jerome was getting

I say get rid of Davis contract as soon as possible, no matter how.

you wanna know something .. why would dallas ever trade with the bulls.. all they would get in return is a big contract.. if mark cuban ever traded finley it defenitly wouldnt be to the sucky bulls ... they dont have anything the mavs need.. so i dont think your little trade would work.. who the hell would want to go to chicago there management is on crack look all the moves they made recently scott skiles as head coach when you can get Isiah thomas or doc rivers.. something is wrong and chicago and its not the players. its management

yessie i think you're on crack. it is the players who are at fault, not the management. It isn't the management's fault when rose is playing selfish and having a negative effect on the young guys. or that the team is sleepwalking, especially on defense. You can say it's management's fault for bringing in these players but almost all of the players were here brought in by the previous GM.

if anything, i praise Paxson's moves so far. He drafted hinrich- one of the few players on the team who give 100% all the time.. plays good defense. he resigned blount, who has been pleasantly productive. he released hoiberg and hassel, though they are playing well w/minnesota, they wouldn't be that productive with this bulls team.

and most importantly he was able to get rid of rose and his contract. 20pts/4reb/4asts is nice but comes at a big expense to the team. rose was a stopgap player while the high schoolers developed, never the centerpiece of the rebuilding process. the longer he stayed with the bulls, the harder it would have been to get rid of him.

while most outsiders see this deal as one sided, it is a smart move in the long run. Paxson took another step in molding the team into his liking.

as far as blount being productive as davis, i agree. the only thing is that blount, at this point of his career, can't handle major minutes anymore. he's already missed some games due to injury playing bench minutes. before the trade, the bulls only had chandler and blount as anything close to resembling a defensive presence downlow. but chandler's missed 6 games already and blount can only provide it for about 16 minutes a game. now they've got davis and jyd to add to the mix.

yeh sucks to lose the scoring but the team has shown for stretches that the offense is fine w/o rose on the floor for significant stretches. if anything, rose has only been a positive factor in no more then 5 of the first 16 games. and in one of those games, he choked and missed big a FT against the twolves

i see this trade as being similar to the mavs/GS deal. everyone was ripping on GS/calling it one sided/didn't understand to why G state made the trade...the bulls probably won't be as successful short term as GS, but like GS, the big trade will pay off in the long rong.

Hopefully the trade turns well for both teams, I just know I see it great for the Raps.

Weren't there rumors that Finley was being shopped? He has a $100 contract, which Cuban would be unloading for another big contract. I don't know how much Rose is making, but I'm sure his contract runs out sooner? If anybody would like to correct me please do so.
Finley is the better player, that's for sure, so from that perspective I can see why Cuban wouldn't deal for Rose. But it's not always about who's better with Marky Mark.
As for the coaches. Isiah Thomas is an ass, and Doc is not available.

I'm still waiting for the day when the Bulls get their shit together and scrap the triangle all together. You don't have Phil Jackson or Tex to teach the kids so why even try! All this is doing is making the adjustment to the pros even tougher for these first and second year players. The Bulls are now becoming a farm system for the rest of the league. The Bulls have yet to produce I allstar since they dismantled the dynasty.

Just look at all the talent the Bulls have let go:

There is no way in hell you can tell me that by letting players of this caliber go that you are making the team better.
