It should be in the NBA Live 2000 program folder under the Start Menu.

Hi

Or do this :

The 3D utility setup program is inside one of the folders
inside the nba2000 folder (where the program is located after it is installed).

Check the path to the program inside the desktop icon.

Life is great.

Bought my 3:rd Mac Pro Intel Quad during this week and it had a boot camp with Vista on it. :-)

5 weeks of vacation starting on Friday, hopefully not all of that time will be spent on getting
the NBA Live 2000 working on Vista.

Hi everybody

And happy upcoming holliday.

Just want to confirm that NBA live 2000 runs in Parallell on my Mac Pro.

Work much better than on my old PC. :D

The coolest thing is that I can copy the parallels file to one of my other Macs and run it the game there also. :D

Which means that as long there is a computer that supports Parallels I can play the game. (Y)

Parallels is awesome, now I can run NBA live 2000 in a small window (dont need to run it on the full screen), while having my editors in another window (XP pro) + having the Mac desktop available also. :-) Now my fantasy league editor + game schedule program + statistics are outside the game connected to a copy of the game database. The only thing I need to do is to save the player stats after each game and process the files with a stats tool. (Y)

Now I'm on Windows 7 and can't get it to work either... also having issues with other vintage games, and compatibility mode doesn't do anything (a multiplayer battle with Age of Empires II, for example) (N)

Hey, all. I caught the NBA Live jones this week, ran my old 2000 edition (original Franchise Mode) and noticed a bit of a drag in the controller cursor, and in the graphics, too . . . a drag and a "hitch" (or skip) in the graphics. I recall experiencing such issues on an older computer if I ran some other software while playing the game, or when another application (virus scan, security notification, etc.) started while I was playing. This is not the issue now . . . and yet, this cursor drag is consistent. I would assume that the pc is suffering some memory (or graphics card)-related issue. But I just installed a pretty solid card with updated drivers, and expanded the computer's memory capacity this Spring. I notice no such problems with other software accessed.

Might there be some other game-specific explanation, something that I can remedy, causing this drag/skip in controller cursor and intermittently, in game graphics?

Thanks again, all. Hope everyone is well!

Peace,
MT

We'll need a bit more info than that: your PC's specs, what 3D setup settings you're using, whether or not you're running the game in a Virtual Machine, etc. Something there should offer some clue.

This unit is running XP-Pro {Version 2002} Service Pack 3, with an Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz processor, 448 Mega-Bytes RAM
Raedon 9000/9100 video controller; 160g ide hard drive

I'm running 3D graphics in "Software Renderer" mode. Apologies, but I'm not quite sure what a Virtual Machine is . . .?

Thanks.

Try hardware rendering.

Andrew, hey, thanks. I attempted this and unfortunately the software does not run when 3D Setup is altered to any option aside Software Renderer. I understand that this is a fairly common issue when attempting to run NBA Live 2000 (in particular) on the XP platform. Attempting to run as such results in an "Unhandled Exception" error message . . .

Thanks,
MT

That's unfortunate. The next thing to try would be updating your video card drivers.

You might try nGlide. As far as I've understood from the website, it simulates a 3Dfx environment of a Voodoo graphics card even though you do not have it.

After you've installed it, things might get tricky. They have not made a fix for NBA Live 2000, but they have for 98 and 99. This is just guesswork: download the NBA Live 99 registry fix and extract it somewhere, but do not run it yet. Open the file with Notepad and for every time it says "NBA Live 99" type "NBA Live 2000", save the file and run it. Then go back to the NBA Live 2000 3D setup and choose "3Dfx Voodoo".

This is just an experiment, but I feel it's crazy enough to work.

I've added the complete solution to the NLSC Wiki, hope you don't mind.
