ROSTER II

Mon Apr 24, 2006 7:50 am

All right, fellas, I have a saved Franchise in Live 2000. The database from this franchise includes 42 created teams, over 500 created players, along with all of the original teams & players from the Live 2000 default Roster. Is there any safe way in which I might extract all of these teams, players, database packages, etc. from this franchise and save this information as a separate Roster? I've tried cut-and-paste using one of these database/archive editors -- didn't work (peep my prior topic post). Wondering if the .dbf wizzes out there in NLCS-land might have access to any methods that I might use to extract and preserve this material as a Roster file for later usage.

The current Franchise file is un-started (i.e,, no games have been played/simmed and no stats have been accumulated). Let me know, if you know.

Hey thanks again, fellas. Peace.

mmh the easiest way could be to copy the players.dbf and teams.dbf files in a new roster save

Tried that. Via copy & paste. Resulted in the corrupted roster files described in the last topic stream. Or, could you walk me through a step-by-step on how you would go about copying these team & player files and creating a new roster?

I deleted an old roster file's team & player folders in CDFB Viewer/Editor and mass pasted the created teams & players in the "new" empty cells. How would you have done it, Alex? Thanks.

Fellas --

OK, I'm desperate. Summer's coming soon, and I NEED to retrieve this roster. I have the database for all of my Live 2000 created teams and players saved in a FRANCHISE mode. Yet, I accidentally erased the ROSTER mode from which I launched this franchise. Can I email these team and player files to ANYONE who might be able to transfer the teams and players and save them as a ROSTER file?

Please!?! Please!?! Please!?! Help save my 2000 sanity, fellas . . . thanks . . .

You shouldn't need to copy and paste anything within the dbf files at all. Just save a roster and copy the dbf files from the Franchise save to the roster save and load it. No editing required. :)

Hey. Thanks, man. I did just that yesterday in a rare clear-headed moment, after rereading the earlier responses -- and everything worked perfectly. I appreciate you guys. Thanks.
