NBA Live 95 : How can I make it work?

Postby NikolasFigaro on Fri Aug 26, 2005 9:15 am

Hi everyone. I believe that the best NBA Live so far is Live 95 for PC. I absolutely love that game. Yesterday I found my ancient copy of the game and I am desperately trying to play it. No matter how much I try, the game just won't run, even with dos-box. Has anybody experienced the same issues? Any suggestions? I would really appreciate any help I can get. Thnx.

I have all the games from the NBA Live series, but 95 is definetely my favourite. Maybe cause of all the great players that were in it. Anyway, I need any help I can get!

I don't why. It is an old game so the possibilities are endless. Why not just play the newer versions or buy 95 again? It's probably around $5.

What is the problem exactly when you try to play the game? Can you install it, and than not play it, or can you not install it at all?

no problem mates :)

About the game, well it installs properly, although i choose to have no sound and no movies, since it can't detect my soundcard. I proceed with a full installation. After that, through dosbox, the game runs properly, untill the point after i choose my controller. The screen goes black for a while, then it exits and says "virtual path "speech" not found". I've experimented a bit, but nothing works. I mean, since I have chosen to have no sound, isn't this a bit dumb?

Yeah, it is. I can't help you on this one, sorry. Try asking threatlockz, maybe PM him. He's a moderator for the Live 05 Tech Issues forum, so he probably knows a thing or two about computers.

did you tried running the game with Windows 95 compatibilty mode?

(right click on your .exe, choose properties, Compatibility and here you'll find the option)

And Sensation, I think it would be better if you stopped posting this kind of crappy comments.

Any luck getting this to work? I've been trying to get it running in Dosbox on Windows 7 (64bit), but I can't even run the installer. I fancy some retro gaming action :)
