I admit - I'm a sado masochist. This game has f*d me so many times and so many times, I've bitched about it. Trolls have told me "why don't you just delete the game and quit?" Why? Because 2k does so much right. And in its purest form, it is an amazing game. I marvel at the graphics, the sweat glistening off skin so detailed you can pick out the goosebumps. I love the animation, the almost broadcast-like quality. I love that the 2k team has listened to every complaint and incorporated things that we've requested (like in-game saves and abetter online experience), whereas the EA team has just told us to "suck it. " The game is amazingly fun.
Except for the scripting. The ridiculous momentum swings. The times when CPU Curry bricks 2 free throws so that you have a chance to catch up. The times when your normal passes get stripped because the computer deems momentum is against you. It happens in every single game. And I absolutely hate it. Back in the day, this was called "cpu assist" and you could turn it off. It's a cheese way for the computer to make games more "interesting" instead of allowing blowouts to happen, like it should. You can see it happen. Like when I'm down 7 with 30 seconds left, you can bet your sweet ass that the cpu is going to super turbo boost my fg percentage so that I can make the next shot. It is absolute bullshit. This scripting nonsense has been in 2k for as long as I've been playing 2k (2k9 on the pc). And it is freaking high time the 2k team do something about it. Put in a damn slider. Please. I am sick and tired of losing or even winning because of bs. A video game company only succeeds if it lets the player think they have control. And I feel like I have zero control in the last 3 minutes of a game.
