Calling out all MyPark Cheesers

Postby JWL3 on Wed Nov 05, 2014 5:57 pm

These are the dudes that rely heavily on their VC to up their players to 99 and max out their player's heights for a ridiculous Advantage. In other words, guys who can't play and just bought a ton of VC to get their players to 99.

I'll start:

Name: Kevin Durant
Description: KD jersey, looks just like KD except he's 7' 2" with gumby arms
Rating: 99
Cheesy behavior: runs with a squad of all +93's and beats down people by sheer size and 3 pt shooting. Then dances and taunts 73 rated 6' 3" players (me) in their face. Also starts chucking half court 3's when the score is 14-6. Is the equivalent of Shaq going down to the junior high school and taunting 12 year olds.

I saw this dude and refuse to play against him and his buddies. How do you know he is 7'2 since he is an SF his max height should be 7.

This is why i stopped going in MYPark on the pc version. The first day there were these two japanese players who were maxed out and just dominating the court. Everyone just left shortly after.

Ratings don't mean anything on offense (in terms of being able to score) if you know your shot and take smart shots. As for the mypark skins, it's not really affecting gameplay other than visual aspects. I think you're discussing my friend who changed his guy and name to Kevin Durant. It was a matter of time before this happened since 2k didn't give people face scans.

Some guys play above their ratings. They can make a 65 player look good and be competitive. Then there are the guys who are only good cause of their ratings. KD does nothing special. It's one thing to be 99 and dominate because of chucking 3's and being 7 ft tall. It take a special kind of gall to run with a pair of 93+ guys and then taunt your opponents after you win by 6.

Is it possible to max out your player at this point (4 weeks since game release) without buying VC? I guess you can if you play 8 hours a day or something. Cause Steam tells me I've played 65 hours so far and I've only upped my player from 65 to 74.

Yeah I know what you mean. I have a few friends who take the dumbest shots (long 3 pointers). Still, when I match up against them... you counter that by playing up on them. Know their tendencies, my guy is 6"8. And who cares about the taunting? Almost everybody I see does some animation at the end of the game.

And I think 85 OVR rating is the max you can get just by buying VC. You need to unlock badges to unlock the remaining attribute levels

Yeah. I'm not really pissed at the taunting. Actually thought it was kinda funny that these guys thought us worthy of the taunt. After all, two of us had the gray noob outfits which meant we hadn't even bothered to buy threads. We also looked like midgets standing next to these monsters.

The only good taunts are these https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Sniper_taunts
I must say that I would never do such any taunting like those in 2K. I mean I would feel like "wtf am I doing?".
Only valid tauts are like calling "and one" in street pickup game etc.

As we got the Park for the first time on the PC I also built an SF with Maximum hight... not knowing about what Kind of an Advantage this really is. To be honest I expected to get some lower start Ratings or earlier caps in my skills for using this hight. Now my Player is a pain in the ass of his opponents and I win like 75% of my games... not even playing with friends or squads.
What I dont use are any Rating bosters or stuff....but im already a 92 Ovr anyhow...
I can understand People are pissed by These tall SF Players as the Advantage is undenyable.
Still I also think that Ratings only do the Job up to a certain point. Ive been playing with 99 Ovr Players in my Team and I would have preferred a 66 OVR who just knows how to Play and sticks to his talents.
Many of These high rated Players totally overact on the court and think it is all about them, which leeads to very bad decisionmaking.
I think if u have an OVR from 75 and up and if u have specialised in certain Areas of the game, you can easyly Keep up with those 90plus Players just by teamplay and better decisionmaking... thats the ingredient most of them dont have at all.
I already beated Teams with 3 90plus Players only having an 81 OVR and a 65 OVR wearing his starting Dress on my Team. The reasons this worked are the mentioned Facts. Teamplay, decisionmaking, only do what ur Player does best. The nice Thing is.. if ur whole Team acts like that, it will all come back to you and u will still get your share of the game automatically.

I love playing with guys who know how to play; most guys with 90+ ratings rely on those ratings to chuck 3's or do NBA Jam type dunks.

A few guys I've seen are rated around 75 and super smart about how to play. Modesty aside, I'm one of them. You mis time a layup on purpose so that the 7' beast does a fly by. Or you cut out and reverse back for an uncontested layup. Or just being able to bump a guy doing a windmill jam early enough in the animation to make him miss. You have to be willing to beat the one on one monsters with passing, just like San Antonio last year. That said, sometimes you just cannot defeat 90+ guys who rain 3's. You have to give up something on defense and I'd rather give up an open 3 to a 99 guy than a guaranteed dunk.

You guys are really butthurt about the ratings lmao. The max you can buy up to is like 85 overall and you can thank 2k for the microtransactions. And people who are rating 70 are not going to be better than 85+ usually. Most people have played mycareer and progressed substantially by now. While there are people who are bad at the game at every rating level, you need to stop complaining about little things like taunts and 3pt attempts. It's pretty easy to play defense in park, you have unlimited fouls and easy sliders. My guy is 6"8 and ovr 94. It's your fault for making your guy your natural height of 5"5 lmao and letting people outrebound you.

I'm a 68 overall 6'8 PF and I can play better than most of these high rated kids so I could careless that they bought VC if they don't even know how to play the game.

Don't worry. In a month or two, when the rest of us (with full time jobs and kids) level up to 99, it'll be a level playing field. Enjoy the advantage while it lasts.

Your buddy Kevin Durant and his squad of bum-lickers changed their names and outfits last night, didn't they? The two are like a bully's dim-witted helpers. Even though they're both highly rated (around 93), they do nothing but feed the ball to him for the 3.

If you spent as much time complaining on Internet forums about strangers over the Internet, you would be rating 99. And btw, working full time as a Walmart greeter doesn't count as a real job. You must be so exhausted. You're probably one of those terrible players with 200+ hours on the game and still rating 75

76 hours and level 75. Some of us still earn things the old fashioned way. As opposed to buying VC with food stamps.
