Shouldn't there be an NBA 2K esport tournament?

I'm not very big on esport tournaments, because I don't like the kind of games these tournaments usually revolve around - the kill to level up - level up to kill more kind of games that are sponsored by military etc.

But I'm wondering... shouldn't there be such a tournament for NBA 2k? Unless there already is one and I don't know about it. I'd love it if there was such a tournament in Europe, I'd personally like to take part - as long as it was possible to play with a keyboard.

If there isn't one, is anyone interested in forming some team to start something like that?

There was a 2K14 tournament online with Virgin Gaming. The final was a live event. Online is not a good platform for such tournaments, because the possibilities for cheating online are endless. #1, you can't verify the identity of the person holding the control pad, unless people are playing from supervised locations.

Back in the day I worked with EA on their Madden Challenge tours/tournaments, and we had NBA Live tournaments along with those.

2K had a few tournaments at trade shows - mostly in CA and NY. I worked a few of those trade shows for other companies, but would help 2K with their tournament too.
