Will Disabling SLI/Crossfire Help?

I am curious. I heard on reddit that NBA 2K15 is not optimized or supporting of this. I also heard that disabling this helps lag. Is this true or confirmed?

Helped me, initially sli doesn't work until I forced it to do afr2 but game was still choppy and slow and so I turned off SLI and now it runs MUCH better meaning we have to wait for drivers but it still ran very smoothly with a single card. I have 2 680s.
