If you want to upgrade, get a new video card and some more RAM.

Maybe on low, if you have a decent video card.

Ugh haven't got the chance to download the game yet. From looking at other people's experience with the game two of my desktops shouldn't have a problem playing at Max settings. One will probably work by sacrificing some graphical eye candy.

Intel HD Graphics 4000 was a good IGP for an Intel IGP when it was released with the 3rd Gen iX Processors. You could probably play the game on the minimal settings with the lowest resolution but I can't make a guess on what kind of FPS you would be getting. I have a entry-level gaming laptop with an i7 3632QM + GT 650M. The i7 3632QM has an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 also so I could test it once I download/install the game. The CPU is better than yours but the IGP would be the same.

----------

On another note, NVIDIA announced the GTX 980M and 970M today. I have to say I am impressed with what I've read so far. The issue with laptop video cards was that they had smaller memory bus, lower memory speed, and lower core clocks. The 900M series have seemed to have increased.

GTX 980M
CUDA Cores 1536
GPU Clock 1038 + Boost
GDDR5 Clock 5GHz
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Size 4GB or 8GB

GTX 970 (Desktop)
CUDA Cores 1664
GPU Clock 1050 + Boost
GDDR5 Clock 7GHz
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Size 4GB

The Mobile GTX 980M is a Desktop GTX 970 minus 128 CUDA Cores, Minus 2GHz Memory Speed, and a little slower GPU Clock speed. Obviously the desktop variants can be overclocked for more performance, but the Laptops can too (not as high due to worse air flow). I am seriously thinking of selling some stuff to buy a Laptop with a GTX 980M. That way I can play 2K15 Max wherever there is a power outlet.

So, I have tweaked a bit with nVidia Control Panel settings, forced some stuff and it looks even better suddenly.
No blending edges with FOD effect, but still pretty sharp picture.

Damn, wanted to delete the post cuz I accidentaly put it in this thread instead of the other one, but you beat me and responded :D

Nevermind, I just left for work, I'll post those settings when I come home (in 9-10 hours).
But basically I forced everything what could have positive impact on the visuals of the game.
And I think that we could try to force Ambient Occlusion via nVidia Inspector again.

And even with forced supersampling etc I still get stable max fps with vsync (60) in general gameplay.

Cool. I'll wait then.
On Ambient Occlusion: No need to force it. I had it working just like that. GTX 980 on latest nvidia drivers and self shadowing was there. (Y)

I definitively saw self-shadows from the ball on the jersey while shooting free throws and it was very not over the top shadow - I remember when I used to force self shadowing/AO trough nvidia inspector it was hard to find the right profile and mostly the self shadows were excessive.

The special effects really makes the game stutter for me
When I turned it off, it was very smooth after that. All medium settings except for the shader (high setting).
Graphics card is GeForce 650 GTX.
