Petition for Midnight Release on Steam

Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

Petition for Midnight Release on Steam

Postby ebucemag on Mon Oct 06, 2014 7:46 pm

Just realized that as of right now, NBA 2K15 on steam is setup to unlock at 1PM EST Tuesday and not at midnight.

Lets try to push for a midnight release

We have to try to get Ronnie2K attention on Twitter and keep pestering about a midnight release.

Sends the tweets to @Ronnie2K

Very late, I know.
However if we all send tweets maybe we can make it happen.

Did you think there was going to be a preload ?
PC users on Twitter and steam forums made that happen.

It's 10AM for California where VC is. And Valve.

It's the standard Steam update time. You have to specifically set for a Midnight Release or else they're automatically processed then.

I believe that's where Steam has it's HQ. If they don't do a midnight release, they usually update Steam at 10am their time(PST).

9am - Alaska
10am - PST(Pacific)
11am - MST(Mountain)
12noon - CST(Central)
1pm - EST(Eastern)
6pm - BST(British Standard) & WEST(West African)
7pm - CEST(Central European)
8pm - EEST(Eastern European)

Still the point was that you can't have midnight release everywhere at the same time due to the timezones.

yeah not everywhere thats clear.. but if they would at least to midnight in PST(or wherever their Central is) it would be around 10 hours earlier.

wich seems not that much.. but it can feel endlessly long if youre so hyped :D the last years i didnt care for 10 more hours because i was at work till late afternoon anyway.. but now as a student^^

depending on where you live this 10 hours can be the difference between beeing able to play it early in the Morning or in the evening.. quite a difference.. so yeah 10h early would be nice^^

Really? You can't wait a couple "extra" hours?

You'll have plenty of time to play the crap out of the game, and eventually you'll get sick of it and start petitions for 2k16 to be released in May.

Go ride a bicycle or something.

of course i will eventually find something to pass the time^^

its just beyond my imagination why it is seemingly so hard to write a "unlock Game automaticly at 00:00.01" into the Steam Code..
it would spare the Steam employees some work manually unlocking it, and let us play earlier.. win/win

or if it in fact does unlocks automaticly its even more questionable why they cant set the timer to midnight in the first place

I'm thinking they do a 10am update so that if there are any problems, most of their employees would be at work to make corrections or adjustments. That would be my guess.

1 day - 1 hour :P

Stop crying 'cause you'll have the game at 1 a.m, most of us will have it in 4 days.
